I hope we don't have to wait til 2013 for the 20th anniversary of Mask of the Phantasm, but I guess that's not too far away. It definitely needs to be restored and I hope the sales of Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker and Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman help pay for that and show enough interest to get those releases.

I hate to raise this discussion AGAIN, but i believe this was animated in 1.78:1 and cropped to 1.33:1 for DVD release.

IMDB lists 1.85:1, but with IMDB you never know though.

I will buy all of them, even though Monster of Mexico is one of the worst Scooby-Doos.

Yes! The more of these, the better. I am holding out hope for Phantasm release in time for the Dark Knight Rises.

Yup, that's what DVDTalk says based on a bonus feature on the DVD. I would expect the Blu-ray to be OIAR.

I gladly bought Return of the Joker because I really liked it but I will not buy a movie I don't like very much just in the hope that its sales will lead to the relase of a movie I do like.

Was Return of the Joker the "Original, UnCut" version or the "original DVD" version?

Original uncut. Original Aspect ratio and pretty great picture and sound.

Its a release every fan of superhero animation really needs to own. I debate with myself often whether I like Return of the Joker or Mask of the Phantasm more but both definutely surpass even the best of the new DC Universe line of movies in my humble opinion.

Definitely. Fantastic stories, fantastic voice work, everything was top notch for both releases.

I'm a huge Batman fan, yet have not seen Return of the Joker. Mostly being because I am not a fan of Beyond and have no interest in anyone other than Bruce Wayne as Batman. But I hear so much good about it, that I gotta see it eventually.

For us old farts, I was relieved to find Bruce Wayne is in it, and featured heavily. You won't be disappointed.

But that Young Justice series? Not for me. And who's that upstart in a T-shirt with a Superman logo? Surely not Superboy?

I can't escape my fascination with the classic superheroes, I was indoctrinated as a child, it's in my blood. But those new heroes, now that I'm 40....
