Even if he's not using the amplifiers it has separate power supplies for the processor which will generate heat.

Looking at his setup I'm assuming that he has it in the same enclosed cabinet where he had the Pioneer, and I for one believe that to be too tight a space for most receivers with that sort of power draw. The Pioneer would run a lot cooler since its a much different design which is probably why he never ran into this problem in that cabinet. I would never enclose an Onkyo/Integra receiver in a space like that. In fact I would be reluctant to put any receiver in an enclosed space. That's the main reason I went with an open stand so I could give my HTCP and receiver room to breathe.

Hello,
I'm currently looking at the Integra 40.3. I went to a dealer by my house and they have the 50.2 refurbished by integra for the same price of $900 with a 2 year warranty. My first thought was to stay with the 40.3, but now I am thinking the increased power and extra zone would be nice. Any thoughts and opinions would helpful. Also, I haven't compared prices yet, but is $900 an good price for the 40.3 or 50.2(refurbished). Thanks... |

I don't know if anyone can help me out but I thought I would start by posting here.
I have an Integra 80.1 and I am trying to hook up a USB mass storage unit to it for all my music. For some reason it will not read the drive at all. My buddy has an Onkyo 809 and on his it works( different brand). I have tried everything and cannot find out what is wrong. I have a 128mb travel stick and that works but not the USB unit. However it did for some odd reason once work. Don't ask me how but it read the drive and after that fail. Does anyone have any clue at all? The USB storage is a Toshiba 500gb non powered. Could it be that there is not enough power to power up the unit and read it? Any help would be great! |

I know that Miker07 or Theil24 has an Integra 30.3, you could go onto the Energy Thread and post to Miker, thats typically where he hangs out.

I own the Integra 30.3. Its a great receiver. Well built, excellent video processor, and a bargain as well. I've been very happy with it over the last 5 months or so.

Good morning guys, I've been a proud Integra 40.3 owner for a few months now, (thanks to Steve "Callas01") but I have a question for you integra Guru's out there. I've been using my receiver for mostly movies, and have only used it for music 3 or 4 times, and then only momentarily.
Last night I decided to listen to a little music and it sounded rather flat to me. What settings do you guys like for 2 channel stereo music? For music I've been turning audyssey off, Equalizer off, and listening mode in stereo. It sounds a little better with Dynamic EQ on, but I feel I'm still missing something. Movies sound incredible with audyssey of course, but music in stereo seems to be lacking a little to me (especially in the lower end). I'm playing CD's with my Blu-ray player through HDMI, and the settings mentioned above. Any thoughts? Thanks, Mike Last edited by Miker107; 10-27-2011 at 03:15 PM. |

Hey Mike, I use my Yamaha CD changes for music which is analog to the receiver. I prefer the all channel stereo and DTS Neo settings for music. It really sounds good. When I tried a CD on my blu-ray player through HDMI it didn't sound very good at all. I wonder if the HDMI connection isn't as robust as the analog connection for music? |

With my 40.2 I listen to music with Audyessy on and in "all channel stereo". I have my volume setting set at +10 on all modes. No flat sound here!

in direct mode, the sound comes thru as the music should sound. I noticed the other day that Audyssey was adding to much in the mid band, basically the mid-bass and it was not allowing all the detail to come thru. I was listening to Tom Petty and when I turned off Audyssey I noticed that I could really make out the keyboard/piano that was in the music, but with Audyssey on, it added to the highs and bass, but at the expense of losing some detail.
