Its a release every fan of superhero animation really needs to own. I debate with myself often whether I like Return of the Joker or Mask of the Phantasm more but both definutely surpass even the best of the new DC Universe line of movies in my humble opinion.
Definitely. Fantastic stories, fantastic voice work, everything was top notch for both releases.

I'm a huge Batman fan, yet have not seen Return of the Joker. Mostly being because I am not a fan of Beyond and have no interest in anyone other than Bruce Wayne as Batman. But I hear so much good about it, that I gotta see it eventually.

For us old farts, I was relieved to find Bruce Wayne is in it, and featured heavily. You won't be disappointed.

But that Young Justice series? Not for me. And who's that upstart in a T-shirt with a Superman logo? Surely not Superboy?

I can't escape my fascination with the classic superheroes, I was indoctrinated as a child, it's in my blood. But those new heroes, now that I'm 40....

Young Justice has actually turned into a pretty good cartoon series. This is coming from myself, a person who mostly favors classic Silver and Bronze Age comics. Lots of cameos from the older superheroes are featured on Young Justice and they actually used Dick Grayson as Robin. The show is headed up by the writer responsible for Disney's Gargoyles, which also was a good cartoon for its time.

This has to be an early listing for Batwoman, there is no reason Warner would not release it simultaneously in the U.S.

The Blu-Ray release of Happiness Is a Warm Blanket Charlie Brown was limited to Canada, with only Walmart offering the Blu-Ray release in the USA.

Also the two Scooby-Doo movie I mentioned earlier, have released on Blu-Ray in Sweden at least:
Scooby-Doo and the Legend of The Vampire
Scooby-Doo and the Monster of Mexico

It's a very good possibility that Batwoman is a timed Walmart exclusive here, which is why we haven't seen a press release yet for America. Walmart carried Batwoman in several different configurations on DVD. These retailer exclusives often come out with little fanfare, surprising everyone.

Wouldn't a Walmart (or other store) exclusive have been noticed by people now though? if the release date was 4th October 2011 too.

This is an obscure release. I am a big fan of DCU animation projects and had no idea until today this movie was even on the Blu-ray radar. Walmart in the U.S. tends to be very haphazard in putting out catalog releases, often letting stock sit in storage for weeks.

If any site has the details on this release, it would be here:

http://www.worldsfinestonline.com/WF...ussion/boards/

And before you correct me, I see you already posted over there.

I thought Young Justice was going to be fail as well... Until I just watched all 15 eps that have aired so far and WOW, it's pretty damn good. The only good DC animated show outside of the DCAU.

Great, the worst animated movie of all time coming in 1080p. I remember it gave me a headache to watch on DVD, this lousy thing was probably barely made to withstand VHS viewing.

And by the way this is not a knock on the excellent Animated Series or a great DTV like Mask of the Phantasm, just this horrible Mattel action figure tie-in in particular.

This movie mostly failed because of the ineptly chosen "Batwoman." It's like they couldn't come up with one good idea so they chose this. Something that has honestly been to death in comic books already when you're trying to surprise readers with a secret identity.

Maybe I will buy this though just to support the idea of another Batwoman movie. You know with the one that is a lesbian, is actually interesting, and has a good backstory.

I remember the direction for this film being quite poor and pretty non-Timm-esque. The only thing I can remember from it was some suggestive shots of Batwoman's ass, just because it was surprising to see obvious fanservice in DC animation at the time.

Are you kidding?. I thought it was a pretty good twist having more than just 1 person as the character.

Could you suggest a good online store to get Mexican releases? that ships internationally.

Yup, the store where I got it, but it doesn't seem to be English friendly:

http://www.sanborns.com.mx/

Just run a search for the title you want (make sure you select the category DVD y Blu Ray) but with the title in Spanish, then in the Item page clic in "Compra este artículo", then register a new user under "Vivo en el Extranjero (fuera de México)".

Again, everything is in Spanish but the online service and shipping is great.

Another one you can try:

So the Blu-ray does exist. I am almost sure this will turn up as a retailer exclusive in the U.S.A. very soon. Walmart would probably be the best bet.
