Future Grand Theft Auto titles (after IV) - Blu-ray Forum

I remember reading something about a year ago (roughly) that M$'s deal with rockstar to get GTA IV on 360 is only good for GTA IV and that Sony is (or was) in talks with Rockstar to get all future GTA releases PS3 exclusive and let rockstar take more advantage of blu-ray.

I'm assuming this never happened, seeing as I never heard anything more regarding this issue... anyone know anything about this?

i remember this too. i don't think we will here much about this til after GTA IV is announced.

GTA takes up a lot of storage space and i can't imagine future installments being on DVD9. and GTA isn't the type of game that can be a multi-disc release.

However, by the time we get GTA V MS, might have a new console on the market, that has a higher storage capcity, so i don't know.

So I'm curious about this as well... M$ seems to be the only one rumored to be planning (yet another) new console at the moment. Seems with the success of the Wii that Nintendo probably won't be releasing a new console for quite some time now and Sony built the PS3 up so much by talking about how it's future proof and that they have a 10 year plan for it.

Seems if M$ goes and releases a new console in the not-so-distant future that they may be the only ones doing so. I could see that being a huge failure.

why if they can make it twice as good as the 360 games could be amazing???

but if developers still develop for multi platform it will suffer with crappy ports like the ps3 does

Wasn't because of the 360's limitations that resulted in the delay of the release of this game? I imagine that after this installment Rockstar may end up favoring the PS3 more. Just think of what it could have been if it were an exclusive.

Rockstar is supposed to update the web site tomorrow, 1/23.

Rumor is there will be a new trailer, and perhaps a release date.

Acually about the Wii thing I read a interveiw saying Nintendo are planning to release a new Wii that can do 1080p. (So it might use BD!)
