Its not as action packed as you would believe. Its a good story though and special effects are top notch.

Action-packed is overrated. I like a well-developed story. This one was okay. I might pick it up cuz Will Smith is in it, whenever it comes out anyway.

If you like classic science fiction, more story than action, this is a good one for you.

I disagree with you there... it's not really classic sci-fi per se. Sunshine is a good example of classic sci-fi.

I definitely agree to that statement. Don't go comparing it with the novel by Isaac Asimov though, or you will be disappointed. Nevertheless, it's an entertaining movie

Probably because it ISN'T based on the Isaac Asimov novel:
It was an original action-movie script titled "Hardwire", until Fox found it was cheaper to just buy book rights outright to use Asimov's title, than to fight the Asimov estate over any copyright issues about mentioning the Three Laws.

(Which, by now, everyone takes for granted in any sci-fi mention of robots, but somebody still has their hand out for the royalties...Best to cover legal hinders beforehand.)

I'll pick up I, Robot simply because it's a Will Smith flick. I liked the movie for the story and visual effects, but Will Smith has a knack for making a good movie great. I'd buy it on Blu-Ray.

Never read the book and I've heard that they're not very similiar but I thought the movie was awesome. Will was great. The story was solid to me and the effects and action scenes were good too. Definitely gonna get it.

Worth having, though I agree about the comments comparing it to the Asimov book and would have wished it was true to its namesake.

Can someone correct me, but I think "Fantastic Voyage" (a Blu title I'd love to see) is the only other Asimov-related story to make it to the screen, and I think Asimov, in this case, actually wrote the book AFTER the movie story, to tie in with it.

What I wouldn't give to see someone treat the Foundation Trilogy in the way there was the original Star Wars trilogy, and "stay on target" with the books.

FYI, "Fantastic Voyage" was a "double feature" release with "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea", each movie being one side of a DVD. That would be an interesting double-feature package on Blu, eh?
