Default Hellboy II question

I stumbled across something very alarming for me today. I wanted to check out the official site for the new Hellboy movie and upon doing so I discovered that this movie appears to be done entirely by Universal, thus making it HD-DUD exclusive unless this all ends sooner then I expect it to. What's up with that the last one was blu-ray exclusive and published by Sony why/how/when did the movie jump studios?

Yes, Hellboy II is by Universal this time, it went to a different studio.
However this does not mean we will not see it on Blu-ray.
As it is, the industry is leaning heavily toward Blu right now, and it is only a matter of time before Paramount and Universal start releasing Blu-rays.
Even if we don't see it right away, we will eventually.

Somewhre down the line Sony lost the rights to Hellboy. So 1 is by Sony and 2 is by Universal.

Don't fear....It will be on Blu....

Couldn't have said it better myself. By the time it comes out, it probably won't matter that it is on Universal.

Eventually is not really the word I wanted to hear. I am a huge fan and love the first movie, now I have to debate if I am even going to see it. I boycott all things that support the other format (like Transformers). This blows, honestly this is the first time this stupid format war has effected me. Angry does not even describe my feelings toward this

Just did, I sent off letters to Universal asking them when they are making their Blu-ray support announcement, and while I always write intelligently and politely I seen no shame in using sentences like "with HD-DVD dead in the water" and "since HD-DVD was DOA since it's inception". I know they willl ignore it but I like to think little things like this make the walls of this format war feel even closer to those stupid enough to keep it going.
