Last week numbers had Amazon's sale factored in it, so I think we'll drop about 10%. 75/25

went with HP this time (if anyone cares)
Hmm, this just tells me that apparently their quality is very inconsistent.
I got 2 HP's and an Acer this holiday season. HP's are fine, but my biggest surprise is the Acer... 17" w/ Blu-Ray player for $999 @ BB. Amazingly quiet, stable, and fast so far...

I'm going to be optimistic and say 80/20. I am expecting it to be lower though, now that people have had time to react to WB on both sides. However, with the influx of HD DVD player returns, and the huge boost in BD player and disc sales, and the large number of retailers and other companies going Blu exclusive, I feel 80/20 is not out of the question.
If all goes well, we will see these numbers or better for the rest of the year. Better preferably.

I would rather see no numbers published at all...
You know what that would mean...

I would say overall volume will drop, and with HDDVD not having any new releases their #1 title will sell even less as with their other recently released titles. BD has Woodcock and Good Luck Chuck which combined should be close to half what 3:10 to Yuma did and combined with its second week numbers of it should be around as much as 3:10 first week. I think HDDVD will have lower volume which should be enough to offset the gain of Amazon.

Are you talking about the Amazon HD DVD player sales or the HD DVD sale? They are having a Blu-ray sale also, but I am not sure it is really a sale anymore but just their new regular prices. There are quite a few Blu-rays in the top 100 on Amazon and only 1 HD DVD, Planet Earth of course. While I don't want to get my hopes up and say BD will be in the 80's, I do think it has a really good chance.

Don't forget Best Buy and Circuit City have been advertising 36 months no interest for two weeks now on total HT purchases. I see a blu player as a slam dunk add on for this and January is the the biggest month of the year for these sales.

With the latest articles on HD-DVD players hitting too badly ,i guess the numbers will be 90/10 for BD.

I'm thinking 89:11.

I don't expect HD DUD to get into single digits till next week but I would be glad to be wrong.

Anyway,... I want the numbers like now and stuff.

What's really annoying is that Nielsen have already released the HDM sales numbers to their customers and I bet there are people reading this thread who know what they are.

But they won't tell us! Well, DV used to but he doesn't like the numbers so much these days.

Us peasants have to wait a bit longer. There should be a few snippets reported tomorrow and maybe somebody will accidentally publish the ratio.

Go on. You know it makes sense.

I honestly got the impression the better the numbers are for blu the earlier they were released. At any rate, I say 80:20. The cheaper HD DVD players might have moved some titles.

I think Hollywood Reporter came out with news of the best sellers late on Wednesday. The ratios were reported on Thursday.

This is the link where HR updates will appear.

Alright, I'm gonna drop the big one...

I'm predicting 92:08 in favor of Blu-ray. Yup, you heard it here first.

I love the spinning that is going on right now with the 93:7 sales ratio for stand alone players. I love that. The final breed of HD DVD guys are going to be sick when they see that the new price drop has done nothing and the stand alone sales ratio will still be around 90:10.

The numbers are likely delayed by the MLK holiday. Subscribers probably did not get them until late today or will get them early tomorrow.

My guess is a little less optimistic but still very good for blu.
