Coincidence?
Ok one more time people. Penton sent ME a package by mail, that's it absolutely nothing to it and there was no hidden agenda.

Although he did say later he had to go to the restroom.

Hmmm, I wonder what he meant by that???

I added a blu stripe for *discretion*.
Czech Republic I think.

If you look at my Aviatar very carefully you will see two women wearing far less while riding my old Daytona 955i.

Reminds me of the UK gameshow '3-2-1' - only a select few will remember. The clues given to help contestants win the big prize were so obscure that winning the big prize was a matter of blind luck.

To take the clue: 'go to the restroom'

Well restroom could be two words. 'Rest' and 'Room' - both have double meanings. In this case 'rest' obviously means 'rest of the studios' - Universal and Paramount. As for 'room', well clearly this refers to the extra room found on a Blu-ray disc. So Universal & Paramount are looking for more room for their HD releases and it can only be found on Blu-ray. Therefore Universal & Paramount are going to support Blu-ray and the announcement will be on February 1st 2008!

(I added the date for dramatic effect as I doubt it could be inferred from the clue 'restroom' - the rest is pretty sound though).

A little gem from the TV show (Ted Rogers was the host):

Quote:
Rogers: "This is a composer. German by birth, English by adoption. Best known for an oratorio published in 1741. It was called Messiah. You're bound to know his handle."
Female contestant: (presses buzzer) "Oh God, I used to have it at school... Handel's Water Music..."
Rogers: "So who's the composer?"
Female contestant: "Chopin?"
(audience shrieks in disbelief)
Rogers: (shrugs shoulders and turns to other team) "So I can offer it to you."
Male contestant: "Beethoven?"
And for UK TV viewers wanting a trip down memory lane.

I've never understood the "right to deafen"

They need mufflers on them stat if they're going to be ridden on the street, and more importantly into the garage across the street at 10PM and with the HT blasting I can hear him coming 2 blocks away

I own a Katana.
I agree with eat_me_cool (for once), and wicky.

Both the no-helmet and loud-pipes behaviour seems to be common in the States /w the cruiser faction of biking. Not exclusively though. In my area, it seems to be the middle aged accountants who want to relive Easy Rider on the weekends that are the biggest offenders here.

I chalk it up to 1 part common machismo and 2 parts midlife crisis.

Penton,

What is the deal with Waner announcing it will support HD DVD for an additional 3 weeks?

http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/35741/98/

Quote:
Burbank (CA) - Warner Home Video announced this week that it will continue to release titles on HD DVD for three weeks longer than it originally anticipated.

Earlier this month, Warner said that it is going to stop supporting HD DVD in May. However, it has now decided to push that deadline back a few weeks to be able to release more of its upcoming titles on both formats.

Despite Warner's Blu-ray exclusivity announcement, over a dozen Warner titles are still slated for release on HD DVD over the next four months. The extension of HD DVD support confirms that Twister and Bonnie & Clyde will come out on both formats instead of being Blu-ray exclusives.

I'm not Penton, but this is just a confusing/skewed version of the article. It's basically saying that Warner went ahead with their plan to release all HD-DVD titles planned 3 weeks AFTER the BD release. Their last release will still be at the end of May.

Dude, dont waste this thread on FUD. Its not extended, end in May means end in May. Its always been the end, its just red spin.
