Robert Clotworthy does voice work for Prometheus

Voice actor Robert Clotworthy tweeted today that he's just done some voice work for Prometheus:

"And speaking of Prometheus.... I did some voice work last week on the upcoming Ridley Scott film Prometheus as well as John Carter of Mars."

Clotworthy is probablt best known amongst game fanatics, mainly for his voice for Jim Raynor in the StarCraft series.

In addition to lending his voice to a string of popular video games, he's also voiced a bunch of TV series and just recently narrated History Channel's series 'Ancient Aliens'.

Ironically, 'Ancient Aliens' is produced by a company named Prometheus Entertainment, and investigates the possibility of aliens visiting earth several thousands of years ago. The works of Erich von Daniken, who apparently inspired some of Ridley Scott's ideas for Prometheus, plays an important part in this series (Read here, and here for more).

There's no word yet what Mr. Clotworthy has lent his voice to in Prometheus.
Could it be the space ship's computer, similar to 'Mother' from Alien?

Prometheus casting news reveals 'Elder Engineer' character

British casting website CastingCall Pro reveals some additional Prometheus cast, currently not listed on IMDB.

Back in Jaunuary a source revealed to Vulture that one of the characters in Prometheus is simply referred to as 'Engineer 1'. Rumor had it that this character would be played by a tall athletic person, and done entirely in CGI.



This story now seems to be backed up by CastingCallPro's list, which reveals two characters of special interest.

'The Engineer' played by Darwin Shaw, and 'Elder Engineer' played by Matthew Rook.

Looking at their past resumes, it seems both actors specialize in stunt acting. Darwin Shaw's resume on IMDBpro states martial arts, boxing and combat as some of his athletic skills.

There's been a lot of speculation as to who, or even what, this 'Engineer' may be.
While some fans believe it's a new name for the Space Jockey, seen in the original 'Alien', others believe it's something new altogether...

Two new character names revealed: Milburn and Fifield


In an interview earlier today, Rafe Spall told Sky Movies that he wasn't even allowed to disclose the name of his character in Prometheus.
Now it turns out that two more character names have appeared on IMDB, and on the actors' resumes.

Rafe Spall plays a character named Milburn, while Sean Harris plays Fifield.

Ok, this is now a bit clearer. To those of you who are a tad weary about spoilers - this is sort of a mini-spoiler, but if you have been following the PROMETHEUS story for awhile now you already know what's going on to a large extent. That being said, the next paragraph contains some official mini-spoilers.

The Wall Street Journal spoke with Ridley Scott about PROMETHEUS and here is what Scott had to say: The last eight minutes of the “Prometheus” story evolve into “a pretty good DNA of the ‘Alien’ one.”

We kinda knew that already EXCEPT for when the story takes a turn toward ALIEN.

As the title also hinted, the storyline will center on a "higher being" who challenges the gods for fire. "Fire is our first form of technology," Scott says, and so by taking fire, the higher being is punished "in perpetuity in a horrible fashion."

And no, Sigourney Weaver does not make an appearance in the film!

Scott on 3D and CGI: He has "completely taken off into this cyberworld" and called working on PROMETHEUS "the best time I’ve had in a number of years making a movie." That being said, he continued: "I’m a great believer in filming the real thing if you can and so I did a lot of building the real thing."

Between this movie, THE HOBBITs, AVATAR 2 & 3, TINTIN. HUGO and the re-release of STAR WARS and TITANIC I am basically beside myself in anticipation. I love 3D movies of course, but these movies set bars higher - you know what I mean?
