I think the filmmakers should go on strike until poor people stop preventing this movie from being the second most influential movie ever made.
That's actually pretty funny.

Never read the book. Haven't seen the movie. Don't know much about it, but I get a kick out of the Rand haters. So uptight and insecure.

The insights of the completely uninformed, once again, cuts like a knife!

I hear Michael Bay has signed on to direct Part II. That should spice it up a little.

I've read Atlas Shrugged and thought the book was okay if not a little long in parts (i.e. I believe it was Galt's speech towards the end of the book). Did not see the movie but will give it a watch if it comes to NetFlix, RedBox, etc. On a totally pointless note I like the old art deco paintings of trains, planes, cars, etc and reading book brought those images out to me.

Wow, this movie looks bad. Could the acting be any worse?

Default My review

I posted a review and attempted to avoid the politics. I did add a comment about how the plot reminded me of Coppola's TUCKER. The review has already been rated down a notch; I don't know whether that was because the review is somewhat neutral (the perfect way to tick off both fan and hater) or I barely commented on PQ and audio (which seem to be the ONLY things some people care about on this site). Despite my lack of detail, I did think those elements were more than decent and disagree with the site reviewer's scores.

Thanks for adding your opinion. I always try to read a few before committing to any movie.

Nobel Prize winning economist Paul Krugman had the best review of the book I've ever seen: "There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."
