On Amazon there are some funny reviews posted on the link for Jerry Sandusky's book titles "Touched: The Jerry Sandusky Story." Nearly all of them were posted after this story broke, but one review was posted way back in 2005, many years before everyone knew he was a child rapist. The review shows just how badly Sandusky fooled people with his false image.

An exemplory life, September 27, 2005
By Stephen D. Bogner "sdb"

This review is from: Touched: The Jerry Sandusky Story (Paperback)

Whe you finish this book you wish it was longer. Like a good movie you do not want it to end. It describes a man who has done some great things to help others. How many college football coaches would turn down 3 head coaching opportunities at big-time schools to stay in "Happy Valley". A couple who could not have their own children. Then adopted 6. Not all in infancy. A man who took in foster children and at the same time ran the defense for one of college football's elite teams for 23 years. A kid who never grew up. Yet a person who is so selfless it defies human ego. Everyone reading this should do themselves a moral favor and contribute money to the Second Mile.
Stuff like this is really creepy to read after knowing what we now know. The book is now impossible to find out since the ghouls apparently snapped up all the copies.

This isn't about not playing by the rules. This is far worse than paying players, players selling merchandise or ignoring academic standards or order for players to remain eligible. This is a criminal offense.

Is Paterno that clueless at his age to not realize what's going on? He basically was an enabler for a pedophile. For him not to realize he has to step down immediately is mind boggling.

Shame on the school for allowing him to continue as well. The school doesn't deserve to have a football program if the higher-ups continue to allow anyone who actively knew about it to still be associated with the program.

Aside from Sandusky the grad assistant is the guy I have the biggest problem with. Supposedly this GA was 28 years old and a former Penn St. player and team captain in great physical shape. Who the hell sees a kid being raped by an old man and not only doesn't intervene but leaves the scene and doesn't inform anyone of authority until the next day? Even if Sandusky were much bigger than me I can tell you for a fact I would have physically done everything in my power to stop him. And I believe this grad assistant is still an assistant coach under Paterno right now.

Because I love this game. Football has been a large part of my life since childhood. It's the the way I was raised, I can't turn my back on the game I love and adore so much.

The Penn State board of trustees has fired Joe Paterno. Tom Bradley will be the interim coach.

Wow, there's a shocker. Didn't think it would be this soon but the major news outlets confirm it. Paterno really has been fired. What a crazy week and sad ending to a great coaching career. All deserved though. Bradley has been an assistant at Penn St. for decades and has a good resume. He could end up being their long-term solution.

I really do hope the police are out in force at Penn St. There are a lot of drunken fratboys who idolize Paterno and would love to start a riot. Just look at that mob that marched in support of Paterno yesterday.

I'd still like to know how McQuery has a job. Outside of Sandusky I think everyone is most disgusted in his actions... or should I say inaction.

Not surprisingly there are reports or large groups of students gathering around Penn St.'s campus with some reports of violence. Had to know this would happen.

Paterno has been FIRED

Quote:
BREAKING NEWS
By GENARO C. ARMAS
updated 10:05 p.m. ET Nov. 9, 2011

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - The day was always coming. The old coach was 84, and each new season brought questions whether it would be his last. No one, though, expected it to happen quite like this.

The Penn State board of trustees fired football coach Joe Paterno Wednesday night amid the growing furor over how the school handled sex abuse allegations against an assistant coach. The massive shakeup came hours after Paterno announced that he planned to retire at the end of his 46th season.

The board also ousted school president Graham Spanier.

In Washington, the U.S. Department of Education said Wednesday it has launched an investigation into whether Penn State failed to report incidents of sexual abuse on campus, as required by federal law.

This is what happens when you let one person become bigger than the players, the program, the university, and the sport. Now you have blindless followers who will stand up for him because he's "coach". I'm an alumni from the University Of Kentucky. My family has made huge contributions to the university, possibly one if not the biggest boosters UK has. My family has been close to all staff, including coaches.

When the Pitino scandal hit, even though he was coaching Louisville, I lost respect for him and I don't think my father has spoken with him since. If Cal had something like that come up it would be the same. If a Paterno type situation happened, I couldn't imagine it. I know we would not back him no matter how much success he has.

Forty-six seasons as coach and everything is thrown away. His coaching career is forever tainted now and deservedly so. I'm glad he's gone. To be apart of what he was..... I have no words to explain my true feelings. They are reporting the victim number could be in the twenties. This is horrible.

Surely he must be next. You witness something which is almost as bad as murder and you run away instead of subduing your former coach and calling the authorities. Even if he was too chicken for that, how can he not alert the authorities right then and there?

Probably higher than the 20's in victims. We're talking about a man who was Paterno's right-hand man and widely considered his successor for over 20 years at Penn St., then became head of a large on-campus charitable organization for disadvantaged children. Paterno may have been literally bigger than the program and school but Sandusky was probably the 2nd most powerful man on campus, which is probably how he got away with it for so long. I'd be shocked if the true number of victims is under 40 or 50. Sandusky was a man who felt so confident as a sexual predator he actually raped kids in the Penn St. football locker room.

I really hope the investigators question Sandusky's 6 adopted kids. Sexual predators almost always commit some of their crimes on family members. I'm also curious to know how Sandusky was allowed to adopt that many kids. Usually there are long waiting lists for adoption.

I imagine being chairman of Second Mile resulted in adoption streamlining.

Most people would be talking about this if it wasn't for the Penn State scandal. At least our school is not on the front pages. It also shouldn't affect our transfer to the Big East.

Many other schools are probably thrilled the media is now ignoring them. Namely schools like Ohio St., Miami and UCF. Hell, a major program like Texas or Oklahoma could get tagged for paying players with cash in suitcases and it wouldn't be front page news thanks to Penn St.

The students are out in the streets and the police are out in riot gear all it's going to take is a couple of idiots and it will get ugly.
