Default Will the 5-free Blu-Ray DVD rebate be reissued after Jan. 31?

Because I'm debating whether to get a play-station 3 but I'm not really happy with the current selection because I already have many of the titles from the current rebate. So I'm thinking about waiting until after the 31st to get the PS3. But I would hate to have missed out on free discs if the rebate doesn't get renewed.

Of course anyone here will tell you to run right out and buy a PS3 today. But if you're wanting to wait, wait. Chances are high there will be some sort of promotion going on... they still need format buy-in from SDVD owners.

That said, I was not thrilled with the selection either, so I traded/sold a lot of mine and got ones I did want. There's always someone out there who really wants to watch The Omen.

Without a receipt? Hell no. At least not at BB or CC. Maybe at Wal-Mart (even though they keep track of all receipt-less exchanges and you get about four of those a year if I'm not mistaken) also the Wal-Marts in my area have really crappy selections. It may come to that. Although I'm probably more inclined to re-sale on eBay or something.

Because I've tried this and they always tell me I need a receipt. Then I naturally say it was a gift, and they reply with.. "Well I'll look it up in the computer then.." They can apparently keep track of all local and non-local transactions.. I've tried at both places.

Damn, I was really hoping to unload these poor excuse movies when they arrive in 10-12 weeks...If they take that long, they should give you choices, but only up to a certain amount

I was thinking maybe if I bought the movies and returned them, but kept the original receipt maybe I could re-return the free versions for cash back. But this could prove to be a failure because each receipt has a unique bar code to track transaction.. BB has really got their shit together, haha.. Cunning bastards..

Anyone work at Best Buy or Circuit City?

I work AT Walmart, but not FOR...Im a music Vendor so I have no connections with the customer service workers. If I have my girlfriend return 1, and a few other friend return some they wont add that to 1 person for their "4 a year" rule?

Oh, no. You'll be fine that way. I probably would only do two at a time though. They have a non-receipt return amount limit as well (for a single return transaction). I would make your friends help you out. It's not like they're going to be doing this too right? That way you can preserve your return limit.

Im the only 1 with a Blu ray, so they can help...It just sucks they wont let you return them...Would the barcodes not matching matter? There are some walmarts with better selection that others.

That's actually not true. You can return unopened Blu-rays to Best Buy or Circuit City without a receipt. I know because I've done it on more than one occassion, at both stores...and recently too.

Your mileage may vary strictly on which stores you visit, and the employee who happens to be working in customer service. I got a lot of Blu-rays I didn't want as gifts over the holidays, and I returned them all without store receipts. Most stores are usually more lenient about returns without receipts after the holidays. I've returned 2 blu-rays at two different Best Buy Stores, and 2 blu-rays at two different Circuit City stores. I got store credit for all 4 movies in the form of gift cards.

So, try it out...because I know when my 5 free movies come in from the rebate...I'm only keeping one.
