Hi,

Does anyone know what the bonus DVD is? Is it a DVD copy of the movie (like with the "Double Play" sets), or is it something else? I'm sure it's probably obvious but it doesn't seem to say on HMV's webpage.

I think its usually the Blu Ray and DVD discs of the movie. The Dvd is usually region locked

I could be wrong, we'll just have to wait and see what it is.

the DVD's in these sets are almost always region locked but region free DVD players are ten a penny

Not going to buy this as it will just be the 2D version which cut down extras.

Yeah I wanted to know this too... I haven't actually got a Blu-Ray player yet, (I know, shame on me

) so I buy all the bluray triple/double plays to save me from having to upgrade when I get one at the end of the year!!

Sent an email to HMV about this last week and never got a reply. Might just have to wait and see. I would have though the bonus DVD was included as its an exclusive. Every other store has specifically said the DVD of the film has to be redeemed with a DMR code, but this doesn't...

the DVD will be a cloned copy of the Blu-ray disc but may be without a few of the blu-ray exclusive extras.
as with all prior combi and double play Disney pack's it should be included with the steelbook. The last Disney Steelbook, POTC 4 that was exclusive to HMV, had two disc's - one blu-ray movie/extras disc and a DVD of the same so we have no reason to think this would be any differant

Yes, but in the standard Cars 2 edition, the DVD isn't in the pack. You have to go to DMR and redeem it with a code they'll provide. Which is why it doesn't make it clear if the HMV SB includes the actual, physical DVD. It mentions nothing of a code to be redeemed which is why I think it would be in there but you never know. The POTC had all editions included in the SB, but so did the standard editions, so there was no confusion there!!!

POTC SB didn't have all editions, only the DVD and 2D Blu-ray discs.

Cars two is advertised as double Play, my pre-orde confirmation also states the same so wether it's a matter have having to send of for the DVD copy or having it in the SB when it arrives doesn't negate the fact that the second disc, the DVD copy will pretty much be a clone of the first, Blu-ray disc

doesent look bad im really surprised to see artwork on the back, but this isnt the uk version still think the uK will have the ratings printed and maybe text on the back.

I am not to happy about the blu logo at the top. I would much rather it be strait banner instead. It looks out of place. It already says Disney Blu-ray on the bottom corner. Why do we need to see blu-ray twice on the cover? UGGGGG.

Other than that it looks nice.

Are those dents and scratches I see on the steelbook

Dent on the front cover top left?
Scratch on the front cover top right?
Scratch on the back cover bottom right?
Paint imperfection on the front cover towards the edge in the blue frame almost opposite the number 2 on the spine?
