Yes, this is *NOT* a usual BD recorder. It's a *PLAYER* with recording capability. This player doesn't have any sort of tuner, not only digital tuner but also analog one, as well as built-in HDD. Connecting it to Sharps' digital LCD TV or HiDef HDD/DVD recorder via FireWire, then take TS stream from TV or DVR and record onto a BD-RE disc in this machine.
All current BD players except PS3 utilize BD burner drive, so Sharp's this novel idea basically works if manufacturers put a decent software and FireWire connector, until the pricing point of BD recorders going down. Last edited by Rio; 02-14-2007 at 05:21 PM. |
