I actually just received mine a couple of days ago, and I am very happy with it.

Here are some different reviews for it: http://www.cinemasquid.com/blu-ray/m...-date&dir=desc

Just click where it says "read the review" for each seperate listing.

Thanks everyone (and for not flaming me too badly) . I know it seemed like an inane question, but I've always found Criterion's dvd releases to be so many cuts above regular studio's dvds (in all categories), that I wondered how much Criterion could really improve the film when moving it to blu. So, that's the reason I asked.

Joe, many thanks for the combined reviews; they are VERY helpful. I appreciate it. Quickly glancing at them, I notice that some of the reviewers asked the same question I did and had a difficult time deciding. Some say, keep the Criterion dvd and just add the universal blu, other say upgrade, others are pretty non-commital about it. But overall, this link was extremely helpful so many thanks.

Is the Criterion worth the extra $10 versus the regular bluray version?

Without a doubt, The Criterion version is the absolute definitive version available right now. If you are a fan of the film, then it is a no brainer to go with the Criterion.

I didn't like it when I saw it, but if you like the film, then you should def. get the Criterion.

I have the Universal blu-ray and thought it looked great. The AQ was great especially with the awesome soundtrack.

just a quick question as i watch my criterion edition of this film... anyone else notice a slight flickering throughout the movie? i've just upgraded to a plasma tv and have noticed this on this blu-ray, is this a noise reduction thing? i'm by no means and expert at video, so just curious. thanks in advance for the respones!
