LOL, first time I've ever discovered the figures from the magazine link, rather than another poster.

Amazing figures, I truely believed HD-DVD may have clawed back 10 points through panic buying!

That will end. I believe what we are seeing now is the dual format owners just about abadoning HD-DVD all together and the die-hards and new HD-DVD owners buying what they can. Pretty soon, they will have everything they want. Once Warner dries up, it is all over. I think we will see a number in the 90's come Feb and March. Michael Clayton will be interesting.

we often forget that the people on forums like HDD are fanatical for their format. The general person just wont pool money into a bottomless pit. So it may seem through amazon things havent changed MUCH, but out in the real world, HD DVD is a joke.

Looks like too many HD-DVD fans spent their time signing petitions instead of out buying disks.

'cept not really! haha way to go Blu!!!
agreed. everyone had the exact same information available to them to make a decision. I was a hardcore hd dvd supporter until I got my ps3. I heard the difference, saw the difference, and did some research on studio support and sold my hd dvd player weeks after getting my ps3. Therefore, I do not feel bad.

The Blu-ray catalogue tends to be strong and I estimate that it will perform at 75% of the top 10. That would take total Blu-ray volume to approx. 230,000 for the week. Considerably higher than last week.

Just guesswork. But I have a feeling there is some major momentum behind Blu-ray at the moment and growth is starting to accelerate.

BTW If that's close then it means that HD DVD volume also went up. But I suppose Toshiba were bound to shift a few players and disposed of a few red movies along the way. Whatever they did it clearly wasn't enough to prevent a second week of total humiliation!
From my math I think volume is actually down from last week. This is based on the YTD number. If volume was up then the YTD number would be higher that it is. From my best guess the volume this week is about 70-75% of what it was last week. The volume of last week was also a little below the week before it.

Someone over at HMM has a wicked sense of humor. Notice PE HD DVD has a ratio of 0.00 for the week!! Must be a lot of returns from uninformed Christmas shoppings.

Has anyone noticed this over at Amazon: (Click on any Warner HD DVD title and you get this little warning).

What's even funnier is look at the picture to the left where it says "Daddy Day Camp."

Let's see: ((17-15)/15)*100 = 13.3%

HD DVD up 13.3% in ONE WEEK!

Meanwhile, BD sales are flat, with a 2% decline.

How long can the BDA survive?

That's brilliant! Another message path telling J6P HD DVD is dying fast.
