I was discussing with my friends and they all agree that Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" has become a traditional holiday song.

I like a lot of these songs - here are my favorites:

O Holy Night
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
White Christmas
Silver Bells
I'll Be Home for Christmas
Feliz Navidad
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Johnny Mathis is my favorite performer of Christmas songs. I'm not a modern music hater, but most post-1970s Christmas music is utter garbage in my opinion.

One of my biggest faves is Amy Grant's version of "Grown-Up Christmas List". I've heard a few other versions, but Amy's is the one I remember most. I also like NSync's version of "The First Noel".

I could be wrong, but I think the first time I ever heard that song was in the movie "Home Alone", so whenever I hear it, that scene comes to mind.

When it comes to Christmas songs I tend to like stuff by the classic crooners like Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Perry Como, etc.

To me, The Christmas Song (chestnuts roasting on an open fire) by Nat King Cole is the quintessential Christmas song followed very closely by White Christmas by Bing Crosby. For more fun and upbeat songs, I love Dean Martins version of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Bing Crosby and the Andrew sisters version of Jingle Bells.

Great song! However I think Kelly Clarkson's version tops them all. Amy Grants isnt bad either.

My favorite traditional songs are:

Here Comes Santa Claus
Here We Come, A-Caroling
No Place Like Home (For the Holidays)
I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day
I Saw Three Ships
I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas
It Came Upon a Midnight Clear

The reason is just for listening nothing for any feeling.

The "Carol of the Bells" does it for me. I think because it's a heck of a lot more dramatic and intense than these other ones.

Favorite version would probably be by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

My favorite has to be 'O Holy Night', particularly the choir scene in Home Alone. Very beautiful.

You forgot to add 'Do You Hear What I Hear'. Another great classic Christmas song.

I voted for Sleigh Ride (because I just think it's catchy as hell) and Frosty the Snowman because it reminds me of Christmas at my grandmother's house.

I got her Christmas album; will need to listen to it again.

I do love her version of "Walking on the Air."
