Default Your favorite LOCAL ONLY place to eat?

What is your favorite LOCAL ONLY place to eat? Somewhere that's only in your area.

Mine: The Parkette

It was featured on Diners, Drive Ins, & Dives.

Good stuff....been around for decades.

A place called Obstkiste (Fruitbox). It's a small turkish deli that also offers turkish street food. What Mexican food is to America, Döner kebab is to Germany. If you ever visit Germany you'll find countless döner kebab vendors all over the place.
Our town has quite a few but the Obstkiste has the best döner in a 50 miles radius. Once a week I get me a döner kebab platter to go and for $6.50 you can't really complain because the portions are huge. The meat is tender and tasty, the thick cut non-greasy fries are crisp, and the tzatziki is creamy and won't burn your mouth with garlic overload. The salad actually includes fresh herbs. Something you won't even find in most expensive restaurants in our area.

I almost forgot about those - they were delicious! Another popular vendor during my time over there (Frankfurt, Munich, Darmstadt) was the Gyros. Nothing better than a gyro and a beer!

I had my very first gyros during the haydays of the now (sadly) gone Nuremberg-Fuerth Military Community. I remember soldiers standing in line to get some of that delicious stuff, ignoring nearby KFC and Pizza Hut

Here in San Diego, it's an easy choice: Phil's BBQ

Phil has awards galore for his outstanding BBQ:

And prior to moving to San Diego, Phil won National BBQ cookoffs for Best Sauce in America and Best Ribs in America.

Civilian brat (dad worked for the Stars & Stripes newspaper) in a vast sea of military brats. Still, I grew to love it over there after the initial "we're moving to West Germany, kids!" shock.

Not sure if it'll be everyone's cup of tea but either The Pass or The Mirabelle which is literally just up the road from us.
