I suppose you have a Home Theatre Receiver. You need two HDMI cables, connect one HDMI cable from your BD Player's HDMI OUT to your receiver's HDMI IN, then connect another HDMI cable from your Receiver's HDMI OUT to your TV's HDMI IN. (Just make sure when you are viewing BDs select the correct input on your TV, and select your receiver's input to 'HDMI IN').
You're good to go mate! ![]() ![]() Whether or not your receiver plays various HD audio streams really depends on your receiver's capabilities, also if your HDMI is v1.3. ![]() Last edited by He-Man; 01-26-2008 at 03:59 PM. |

from my HD cable box i connected the audio (red and white cables) from the Audio Out to my TV's input 1's audio slots, this set up only allows me to hear audio on my TV. But because my cable box has multiple sets of Audio OUTs, i connected another audio (red and white) cable to the AUX IN on my home theatre receiver (my receiver has two sets of Aux INs), this way i can now choose my home theatre speakers when i watch TV. Sometimes there will be audio if you just connect the cable from your coax right to your cable box even without an audio cable (i know that was the case with my regular standard definition cable box), but for some reason it doesn't work with my new HD box, i need to have the audio cables connected as well. So i must mute the TV if i choose the audio coming out of the home theatre speakers, otherwise audio is coming from both my receiver and my TV. However, if you dont plan to use your TV speakers at all and you prefer your home theatre speakers for everything then i suggest you connect the auido cables straight from you cable box to your receiver's AUX IN. Just make sure that when you're watching regular TV, make sure you select the right input for your receiver. I think on most receiver remote controls, there's a button that says 'Aux', you have to select that. If you connected your audio cables into your receiver's first AUX IN slots, then on your receiver you should select Aux 1, if you connected them in Aux 2 slots then select Aux 2.....etc. Or, you can use the optical cable if your cable box has an Optical OUT and if your receiver has an Optical IN, and when you press the 'Aux' button on your receiver's remote, select Optical IN. (note that your HDMI IN is already occupied by your BD player) But however you connect it, make sure you always select the right inputs on your receiver and also your TV. I hope that helps. ![]() ![]() Last edited by He-Man; 01-26-2008 at 10:50 PM. |
