Dexter: Thoughts and predictions [spoilers]

I've loved the season thus far, but I'm really disappointed that Gellar

[Show spoiler]turned out to be in Travis' head after all

. Even more disappointed that it was treated as some shocking turn of events (loud music and all). Nothing like having the writers insult my intelligence.

Clearly this "twist" was the best they could come up with. So instead of disparaging them, I say we give them a balloon and tell them how great they are in their own special way.

Yep my first thought when Gellar spoke was exactly what happened.

I wonder what the fans reaction would have been had the writers opted to

[Show spoiler]not reveal anything else about Geller. Instead, he would have just disappeared from future episodes and Travis would have been caught, but the question always lingered as to if Geller was with Travis or not.

It would have been interesting to say the least.

This has been a really disappointing season! I hope that the next two seasons are the last so they can start to wrap everything up in an exciting fashion. And end the series with the bang it deserves.

I highly doubt it would go past 8 seasons. MCH already wanted a huge amount for two more seasons, and I'm sure he won't want to continue either

My point exactly! There is no reason why these next two seasons of the show can't be the best! Deb needs to start realizing who her brother is by the end of next season! I can see the series ending with Dexter on the run, or dead.

She may (HOPEFULLY) find out this season. Her seeing a therapist may help her figure out herself and why Dexter won't ever talk to her about anything. It's taken too long for her to figure it out but then again I'm sure that's not something she'd ever consider. He was close to Harry, Harry taught him some people don't deserve to live, he was at Arthur's house before everyone, Rita was killed by Arthur, Brian is his brother, he's almost emotionless and never talks about anything, Doakes and Quinn were really suspicious of him, he kept his apartment when he was living with Rita, etc. She could very well find out in the next episode, if not, there's still two more after that.

I really wanna know how they'll end it but at the same time I don't want it to end.

It won't happen this season. And if it happens in the next season, it will be built up.

Because Deb finding out is a really big thing! Its HUGE!!! You don't just spring something like that up at the last minute. Thats something that needs to be built up over half a season if not most of a season. Think about it, how great would it be if Deb is on a killers tail again (Dexter), like in season 2, but this time she feels it could be Dexter. Or evidence is pointing at Dexter and she doesn't know how to deal with it. This is the stuff that can make this show great!

Precisely, I agree with hardtosayx, it seems to me that's exactly what they have been doing this season...

[Show spoiler]it was great when Deb speaks to the therapist about Travis's sister and she says something like 'it seemed she know something was not right, but she protected her brother like a good sister would' (or something along the lines of that)

I am hoping Deb finding out about Dex to be the season finale cliffhanger...

You might be wrong about her finding out this is vague but it hints to something big happening in the last couple episodes.

I still doubt this has to do with Deb. I would be seriously surprised if it did.

I think Deb finding out about Dexter has been building up slowly since the series started. It's not the first time Dexter does something or is somewhere that causes suspicion. Her suspicion has been ramping up slowly and slowly and at a faster pace last season and this season. I have no problem ( and hope ) that they end the season with her finding out.

That'd be cool for her to start to think a case is him but at the same time, I'd loveif it were the cliffhanger. It's anyone's guess as to what will happen the rest of the season

As soon as Deb was talking to Lisa, that was the moment I thought she was going to find out about him this season. Now seeing a therapist, everything could come together.

Her finding out is the one thing I've been wanting from the show for so long. If Masuka found out, we know he couldn't keep a secret. Louis could very well sneak around Dexter's apartment or come across something he shouldn't have. Harrison might say "daddy's box" and point to the air conditioner and Jamie can find the slides, etc, etc.

I just hope it happens soon.

It will be interesting if Debra finds out about Dexter. One of the things that made Season 2 my favorite season was the amount of suspense that was present with

[Show spoiler]Doakes finding out about Dexter. Hopefully the situation in the final season can top that of Season 2.

I think the situation with Debra finding out would work out differently though. Debra seems to be emotionally unstable when it comes to such shattering things. Dexter is all she has now, since she pushed Quinn out of her life for now, and finding out such news could be devastating for her. For some reason, I don't see much of a middle ground with her for those reason. If the cliffhanger of this season is her finding out about Dexter, then I would either see her push all her emotions asides, spend season 7 investigating everything she can about Dexter which would lead to his capture in Season 8, or it will be just too overwhelming for her and it will lead her to commit suicide. Still having the outcome of Dexter being caught in an even more suspenseful way than in Season 2, it has to happen . Harrison might be important enough for her to overcome the emotions though, but for some reason I don't see her being ok knowing Dexter is a killer and doing nothing about it.

I don't think so. I personally think we're gonna have her on his side. the whole of last season with her telling Dexter that some people just deserve to die and her "letting him go" with Lumen was all build up for her finding out and siding with Dexter.

Anything is possible I guess, but I would be surprised if it turned out that way. She seemed very upset that Dexter wouldn't open up to her, that's just without suspicion that he might be a serial killer, imagine how it might affect her if she found out. Besides, Dexter told her that when she shot and killed that guy in the night club. I understand her accepting that reasoning with the Jordan Chase victim and how she wanted to kill him, that's why she would just let her go, especially after seeing the rape videos. But if she ever found out everything Dexter did or some of it, I think Dexter would fall into that "some people deserve to die" category. If she found out most things and that he also helped out Lumen, she would realize that he wasn't doing some vigilante justice, but that he is a serial killer, with some ethics.

It would disappoint me a bit if she sided with him to be honest.

It's really hard to know how exactly Deb will react, not even Dexter knows. I think she'll be like "what the ****ing **** Dex?" but how she feels about it, I don't know.
