Default My Mitsu WD-65731 and 1080p24?

Hello, first time poster.

As the subject suggests I have a Mitsubishi WD-65731. I've been very happy with it.

I'm looking to make the jump to Blu-Ray but I want to know if my tv can display 1080p24 natively (or to a multiple like 120), or if it converts it to another signal like 1080p60.

If it displays 1080p24 I plan on getting a dedicated Blu-Ray player to take advantage of this. Any suggestions on make/model?

If it converts to another format I plan on getting the PS3 since I hear that only outputs 1080p60 and call it a day.

Thanks in advance!

Default It's not on the list

Hmm, I noticed that my display isn't on the sticky list of tv's that properly display 1080p24.

So, should I be in despair? Will I want to upgrade when a good option becomes available? Or will I not even notice?

All of the 120HZ flat panel LCD and DLP Mitsubishi’s to my knowledge accept a 1080P/24 input and convert to 60HZ first using 3:2 pulldown instead of doing a 5:5 pulldown (which is why they are not on the list). Only select Mitsubishi front projectors are on the list since they correctly display 1080P/24 material at multiplies of the original frame.

The PS3 will output 1080P/24 and it is currently the only player on the market that is BD-LIVE profile 2.0 with a future firmware update. All BLU-RAY players every made have a 1080P/60 output option. You will get a excellent picture with 1080P/60. All current and future BLU-RAY players in production have 1080P/24 option. When displayed at multiplies of the original frame rate, 24fps looks a little better then 60fps. Reduced judder and other minor improvements. Playing a movie at true 24fps multiplies will look more like film versus a 60HZ video look.

Here is a list of BLU-RAY players that have 1080P/24 output.
