Agreed. Had HUGO been in 2D it's not something I'd have ever watched on purpose. I was able to enjoy the story to a certain extent, though, I doubt I'll ever watch it again. They could have at least tried to add a little more tension lol.

Anyway, it's obviously directed towards a certain breed of audience, which is fine. Probably the best thing about the movie is that it shows the artistic value of 3D, and could possibly bring a wider acceptance to 3D in general. And may set the bar for quality 3D filming that more filmmakers will aspire to.
