Imagine when society eventually reaches the days when most movies are in 3D as James Cameron suggests, and no glasses are required, plus the movie TITLE doesn't include the word "3D", as in "Jaws 3D", I'd say that's when most naysayers will have accepted 3D whether that's 10 years or 100. Until that happens, resistance will remain as with any new media technology. Hugo 3D could be considered Film Art, so in that sense, it's nice that a film such as this has decided to add dimension for its viewers. ---------- Off Topic: I remember the resistance I had to Blu Ray, thinking, "DVD looks good enough and now they're trying to get rid of it already with Blu Ray and HD DVD? I'm not wasting my money on that stuff. Then my 360 burnt out one final time, and I bought a PS3 which already had blu ray. After seeing how amazing Cars looked on my HDTV, I was convinced to begin a blu ray library. And then they figured out how to update it with 3D. Of course, 3D is a little different, but it definitely enhances the movie into another dimension as though you're almost there. I was always a 3D fan since being a kid with the Sega 3D Glasses and all five or six games made for it.... I still own the Sega 3D Glasses and a few games. Maze Hunter 3D looks great. |
