Thinking of getting Demons. I know there are at least 2 cuts/versions Hope both are included.

Finally bought Maniac Cop

Arrow do such awesome packages, they clearly love the movies they release.

I got a fair number of Arrow BDs so far:

EXTERMINATOR
MANIAC COP
DAWN OF THE DEAD
DAY OF THE DEAD
FUNHOUSE
INFERNO
CAT O NINE TAILS
PHENOMENA
BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE
CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD
BAY OF BLOOD
FRANKENHOOKER
OBSESSION
VAMP
SPIRITS OF THE DEAD
DEEP RED
TENEBRAE
THE BEYOND

Really looking forward to their releases of DEMONS 1&2 and HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY (its been so hard holding off buying Blu Undergrounds release in favour of a British release!). Looking forward to RED SCORPION also, can't beat a bit of Dolph.

Yeah that Phenomena looks amazing, the PQ makes the movie look like it was made this year. Crystal.

Hope Red Scorpion is the same !!

Uh, everywhere I've checked shows that there's really only 1 official cut of the film other than video releases that have cut out certain gore scenes or re-dubbed certain actors. But if you know of a cut that improves the film, I'd be interested in it since I never liked the official uncut release I saw. Just too many stupid dubbed voices, zilch character development, and a stupid subplot of these drugged out teens in a car that goes nowhere, along with a goofy helicopter crash scene. I hope the cut you're indicating improves on all that because I still saw some potential in it and it was entertaining.

Well I'm 99% sure.

I remember when I bought this on DVD there seemed to be one cover plain (blue like VHS cover) and another one - cover the same but had (99% sure) Directors Cut under the title, which I bought.

I could have search through and found it to confirm, but can't be arsed tonight. Maybe tomorrow evening I'll double check.

Anyway, bought Directors cut and when reading others review on amazon (I think?) someone posted the directors cut was still not the uncut version, hence me now thinking there are a few different ones.

There, nice long winded answer, sorry to bore

Hey guys. Hoping I can get some definitive reassuring word on Arrow's The Beyond BD. Was it only the screeners that had the B&W prolog, and all retail versions have it sepia-toned? I'm looking to get the BD, but I can't exactly do an exchange with Arrow if I happen to get a disc with the B&W prolog, since I'm in the States.

Also curious about how Bay of Blood looks. Why is it that the screencaps for the Italian cut here look so bad? Anyone know what's going on here? Was it sourced from ancient analog video or something? And which cut do you fans prefer? I'm assuming my US Anchor Bay DVD contains the US cut, so that's the one I'm familiar with; what's different in the Italian one, Italian audio track aside?

I might have to pick up both of these Blu-rays. :) Granted they'll play on my US PS3 and 60Hz HDTV.

I'm as American childhood obesity, and Arrow exchanged The Beyond for me.

So if I get a bad disc, how would I contact Arrow for a replacement?

Arrow Blu-rays are inferior to Blue Underground releases. Arrow artificially brighten the image and use too much dnr, you cannot judge a book by its cover.

Looks awesome, really looks as good as new. We're taking a 25yr old low budget movie. Give it a break.

If you are a fan or have never seen, but would like to for the first time, this Blu is really good.

I think you'll find that Arrow don't actually get involved in any stage of the mastering process on their releases. It's the Italian source of the HD Masters that arrives in their hands in whatever condition they arrive in and Arrow can't do anything about it I'm afraid. It only seems to be their Italian releases that some people may have issues with and I personally think it's just cos whoever is doing these new masters don't actually know what they're doing.

I do plan to buy it since it is cheap atm and it doesn't look bad per se, it is just that DNR realy has an effect on the detail.

That's not true, BU get their prints from the same source and the PQ is a lot more natural. Arrow artificially brighten the image and use a lot more dnr (although BU's Zombi release has been overly abused DNR wise)

Depends on which releases you are talking about, some BU releases from a couple of years ago used a different masters to the one Arrow had to use. Example of this, The Bird With the Crystal Plumage.
Then with releases like City of the Living Dead, released in the same week I believe, shoddy master meant 2 pretty equally shoddy releases.

That's really helpful!
Thanks a lot.

Do you also know what I would have to do to get them both?
I'd like to get the original "bad" version and the new one, but I don't know where to buy it to be 100% sure to get the "bad" version...

(I know it's kind of pervert but I'm a maniac collector I guess)
