Congrats on that Mike I think that base on all the review of this sub you just can't go wrong it will be an amazing performer and hits 25hz at +/- 1 db and not +/-3db.

Make sure to post some pics when yopu get it

Yes, I read some positive things about it.
I'll wait and see what my money situation is next week, but if it turns out the way I think it will I'll be ordering that extra pair of RC-10's early next week as well.

hello all,

i've been listen to music (smooth jazz) from my sony mp3 player for about a year now. but today i pulled out a christmas cd Cyrus Chestnut's Charlie Brown's Christmas. the sound coming from my cr-30's was awesome
my wife thought i brought some new. dag!!!! no more mp3, cd's must come out of storage.

So, I have the opportunity to pick up some Veritas 2.2i speakers lightly used for $300. Should I be sprinting to pick these up? Will these be miles better than the V5.1's I just purchased? Also, will my V5.2 center work well with these?

This my friend is a steal, those will blow away the current 5.1 no doubt, they were made in Canada and listed a $3500 CND something like $2800us back in the day.

Now as for timber matching the current center, it would certainly be not so bad.

What amp would be driving them? Do you love music? Those would sound really really good with a great Integrated amplifier for music. At that price just jump on them. They are 3 way with a dome midrange.

I am waiting to hear back. My fingers are crossed! Any suggestions for a center? Also, do I need to worry about tweeter replacing in the future? I doubt Energy would have the replacements as these speakers are older.

you could call Energy and ask if they have replacement tweeters, I think you would be surprised, MFGs do keep replacement parts around for a while.

I read on another forum that someone did call and Energy said they did not stock them anymore. Is this something to be concerned about?

EDIT- Confirmed that Energy no longer stocks the tweeters for this speaker. Should I just walk away from the deal now? Can I get it fixed if needed by a 3rd party?

Honestly I would cancel that order and if it already shipped see if you can not except delivery so you wouldnt have to pay to have it shipped back. For what you are paying you could get the Outlaw LMF1 Plus for $50 more shipped to your door and it would be a much better sub for the money. It is on sale for $499 shipped and I think the sale ends tomorrow.

On another note I need some advice. I have Energy CF-70s, CC-10 and CB-10s and with the bundle deal going on at Vanns I am really tempted to buy the RC-70, RC-LCR and RC-10 deal without the sub as I have an Outlaw already. My question is how big of an upgrade is the RC series over the CFs? I have read they are much better, but I`m still not sure what I want to do. I just put my CF/CB set on craigslist today to see if there is any interest for $700 for the set, does that sound like a fair price considering I have all the original boxes and there isnt a scratch on any of them since they are only a few months old?

speakers can last forever if they are taken care of... if they sound awesome to you, for the price, but them. Maybe you use them as a second setup just for music.

Hey there SuddenJerk, the LFM1 Plus was actually at the top of my list at one point. It was between the VTF2 MK3 and LFM1 Plus at the time. I came to the point where I wanted to get a couple of RC-10's to complete my surround upgrade, so I decided that I wanted to spend less than 500 on a sub so that I could accomplish both. I think I'll be happy with the HSU, besides it's on the truck for delivery as I type this.
Besides, I couldn't do that to Pete and the guys over at HSU since they have been so helpful to me. And their customer service is outstanding as well. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Mike you made the right decision with the VTF-1. If you wanted a 12 inch woofer you could have stepped up to the VTF-2 and it still would have been a little cheaper then the Outlaw. Plus I think your room is only 10x12 anyways I believe so the 10 inch is perfect. I am considering the VTF-1 also but have to wait till after Xmas I'm looking forward to hearing what your impressions are. Happy Holidays!!

Now I'm probably just splitting hairs now but the LFM-1 Plus is $549, $620.39 shipped. The VTF-2 $612 shipped

SuddenJerk, out of curiosity, where was the LFM-1 on sale? I had been watching that directly on the Outlaw site for some time and it's been $549 on the site. I had been watching the site for both Outlaw and HSU to see which one would drop in price first and they were both 549. VTF2 MK3 was on sale for 509 for a good while, but I wasn't ready to pull the trigger on it, then they wound up replacing it with the VTF2 MK4.
