Don't know if this is a hint or not (Most likely yes, though) but here we go...

Any guesses? To be honest, I am completely clueless this time .

If your plans change and you get there in August, do not miss the famous La Tomatina (the traditional big tomato fight).

The scene between her and Elisha Cook Jr. when he's trying to tell her a story and she's complaining of getting old because he's taking too long is so good. Her scene with Sterling Hayden is great as well.
Too anyone who has The Killing blu-ray, I really recommend watching the Sterling Hayden interview.

If it is Thief, it'll be interesting to see which edit it is, since, like most Mann films, it has had several different cuts over the years. And we all know his "director's cut" is only good until the NEXT "director's cut."

Thief would be in that sort of Blow Out category for me. Not a great movie, not high on any of my wish lists but I'll snap it up and enjoy the hell out of watching it.

Thief is one of my absolute favorite movies and if this release materializes I will be ecstatic. One of Mann's best.

Couldn't agree more, what an honest interview. To openly discuss the one moment in your life that you most regret. He really made an impression on me.

Edit: In reference to the Sterling Hayden interview.

+1 for Thief lovefest. Such a great, gritty crime thriller. I hope Criterion throws in some great supplements.

For a moment I thought maybe Ron Jeremy is entering the Criterion Collection. Now that would be something

I watched "Rushmore" for the first time last night.... I thought I had seen it before, but I guess I hadn't.

I didn't stay up to get into the supplemental material, but the film itself had some decent quirkiness to it, but didn't have the snappy dialogue I was expecting.

I've always been a big Bill Murray fan, but didn't feel like he had the same amount of "sass" he usually has.

Perhaps this is an old topic I missed, but what's with some films being listed with their proper title and others listed under a translation?
It's not that big of a deal to me if the translation is accurate, but a film like Les quatre cents coups should not be known as The 400 Blows which is a simplified and inaccurate translation.
I'd prefer to see all foreign films with the original title and the translated title in brackets and a smaller font.

I've noticed some inconsistancies as well. I'm okay with '400 Blows' because that's how I know the film....I was always a 'Brontosaurus' kinda guy though

I had held off on buying Rushmore with Amazon GC birthday bucks...but picked it up this past 40% sale and a coup.

I actually went to see it at a local theater, the day it was released. It's definitely a quirky film...but I like Jason Schwartzman and he has good chemistry with Bill Murray.

Well...I did buy Branded to Kill as well. .

Rich, I just finished Tokyo Drifter the other day and last night, Branded to Kill, and if you have the old CC dvd's, they are a very nice upgrade from them. I would say Tokyo Drifter has the most improvement from the dvd. Colors are much more natural and not smeared like they seem in the dvd. Branded has much better contrast and depth due to the transfer to BD, but Drifter is definetly a new gem... Anyone on the fence about picking these up should think twice, especially if they are noir fans. They were great releases before BD and now are no-brainers...

I absolutely agree with you. "Tokyo Drifter" looked amazing compared to the original DVD. In fact, both Seijun Suzuki older DVD's weren't that great to begin with, so to see how much improvement there was in the 2011 release is fantastic!

In case anyone missed the 2011 Best/Worst of Poll results:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/blu-ray-mo...ml#post5538680

I know other Criterion sites do polls but ours looks to have the greatest sample taken into account.

My copies of Pierrot Le Fou and Yojimbo/Sanjuro finally arrived in the mail today - very excited to watch these after I get back from family Christmas!
