Oh wait, you're an attractive female so I am supposed to agree with you. PAUL WALKER IS THE BEST ACTOR EVER! Out of curiosity, how many people have private messaged you?

I thought #5 was the best one & the Sound Track on it was far better then the first four....

I can understand his perspective and agree to an extent. The first one was... iffy to say the least. The fifth one blew away all of the previous installments and reinvigorated the franchise imo with it's new focus on heists. The movie may not win an oscar but it was very enjoyable, which is why we watch movies in the first place isn't it?

Ok, why do you have to say things like that?

The Fast & Furious franchise is supposed to be fun, that's the filmmakers' objective and I think they accomplish their goal every time. From that perspective, I think they're good films. The filmmakers never intended to achieve anything more than that: making fun movies. Not to mention that throughout the films the characters and their relationships have matured, which is something that I love in any work of fiction.

Certainly, The F&F franchise is one of the most consistent out there. Even if the characters have been absent in one or two films during the series, they always come back and, at least for me, it creates this feeling that, more than a gang, they're actually this big, loving family, which is what O'Conner found out, much to his surprise, in the first film. So for me, the reason why these films work on so many levels, is that on top of being very entertaining, I've grown very fond of all the characters.

And I have to give it to them, they've managed to maintain a consistency which is rare in several franchises out there, both in the actors and in the story (something that even Marvel hasn't been able to do). But in this case, the filmmakers know what they want and they have no delusions of grandeur, they do not go out of their way to try and get unusual directors just to try and do something different. There's no need, they know what they want, they know what their audience wants, they know what they need, they have the tools to do it and they do it very well. The rave reviews for the last film are proof of that.

On top of all of that, with the exception of Tokyo Drift, I've seen all the F&F films in a very special moment in my life. And while that's merely a personal issue and it makes me considerably biased, that's one of the reasons why I love these characters so much, and I'd rather watch another F&F sequel before than any of Marvel's reboots or sequels, in which they can't even keep some of their actors for more than one movie.

So as you can see, for me, it's not that Paul Walker is a great actor; I'm aware he's not, I like the guy, but it's much more than that.

I hope I made myself clear.

You're right. Did not have to go that route so I apologize.

I've seen each film and I honestly try to enjoy this series because I don't mind Diesel or Walker at all. But I have not cared for any of the sequels, even the last one which almost everyone raved about.

Like I said, I liked the first one. I've seen it a lot actually. And I know they are meant to be fun films. I just don't find them that great, especially to warrant 6 sequels.

This has got to be the most overrated franchise of all-time. And how the last one got so many rave reviews when it was no different than the last one or the first one is beyond me.
Going by that logic, anything that's good is overrated.

The fact that there's only 1 bad movie (2F2F for me, TD for others) out of 5 of them speaks for itself.
