Correction: Alien prequel (not Aliens, not the plural film)

Just watched the teaser. I must admit I am very intrigued. The imagery looks incredible. Ridley Scott is definitely on top of his game in that regard. The music really aided in getting the blood pumping. I think I will see this next year if I get the chance.

I just cant wait for the new Alien IP which is being currently developed by Creative Assembly (Total War guys). They are currently hiring guys to work on their project.

http://creative-assembly.com/?page_id=900

Cant freaking wait to see how this goes with some juicy details. So, we got Alien Colonial Marines coming up and this new unannounced Alien IP which is in development by Creative. That will keep us busy at least until Prometheus.

The guys at Gearbox Software are huge Aliens fans and want the game to be Canon as much as possible. A lot of franchise spinoff games stray to far form the mythology in the original universe, so it's good to see both passion and respect from Randy Pitchford et al for Colonial Marines.

As for Prometheus, is it really going to be a PG13 film? I know that Fox have a lot invested in it, but i have zero interest in watching a cut version of the film if it turns out that an R rated cut is going to be released eventually on BD.

I just hope that game will live up to expectations as like we know, it sticks to the canon and damn Im really2 looking forward for it. Im also very excited for the upcoming Alien IP by Creative Assembly. Cant wait to hear some info about it.

As for Prometheus I have no idea about the age rating. I just hope its not PG13 as it will be such a fcuking turn off.

For me, movies which has anything to do with Alien franchise and its canon, whether by indirectly or not, must always be rated R.

Absolutely! Paul W S Anderson was a total sellout for making AvP a frickin' PG13 film! he stated it was because the source material wouldn't warrant a visceral film. What a crock of shit! It's blatantly obvious he made the film for the PG13 rating. It cut's away at every single moment of potential gore or viscera involving humans. I'm not expecting Prometheus to be on the same level as Alien for it's graphic content, but if the idea of purposely trimming it back to get in a younger audience sucks. Prometheus looks to be a mature science fiction film, not rollercoaster action-fest.

Alien franchise died on me the moment AVP was announced. At least Prometheus is gaining my faith back in the franchise.

In simple words and IMO, Any Alien movie which has a PG13 rating are made for children!! Nuff said..

Did anyone in the L.A. area see the trailer in 3D? There have been some questions about how Prometheus will look in 3D given it is a brooding, dark horror film.

It was quite obvious that the audience that Fox wanted was the video game and comic book fans. I'm not saying it was specifically aimed at young teanage boys ala Transformers, but they dfinately wanted the video game teens (15+) in cinema's. I watched a borrowed copy of AvP thought the only redeeming feature in it was the Predator and Alien brawl. That was rather well done. The rest of it was just shite. I'm surprised Anderson didn't hang around to make the next one. What is bizarre is that i've got both Mortal Kombat (95) and Event Horizon SE on BD, and the latter in particular rocks! Hard to believe it's the same guy that made AvP and Event.

Yeah exactly Event Horizon was awesome and scary enough for me and yes, the fight between the Alien and Predator was not bad and it was awesome at least. Problem with Anderson is, he seems to be kinda inconsistent when it comes to directing good films. Well, I guess every director has their "up and down" time

Problem with the studios these-days are their audience demographic aims. Just like how Paramount kept on spewing the Transformers shite because they know millions of teenagers will still flock to the theaters to watch it so its all about milking the goddamn cow dry. Hence, as we know it, TF4 is in the goddamn making already..

RIP

Alien Vs Predator is actually Anderson's biggest box office film, but from what i have read the film went overbudget by about $20m from it's initial $40m so Fox may have demanded reshoots to make it a PG13 film to aid it's cost. And it worked. It grossed $80m in the US alone.

Anderson knows fine well that he will never have any form of critical success so just now cranks out grade B entertainment for his Resident Evil fans. The Three Musketeers was good, and for a while i hoped it would be a return to form for the guy that gave us Event Horizon and Soldier, but it was a failure outside of europe. Next up? Yet another RE film.

Well FOR ME I have never been a fan of the new age cinema "abomination" which is the freaking 3D. Hate it since its early inception and will always hate/avoid it.

Imagine wearing those big-ass glasses while watching a movie meant to "boo" ya out of the seats or with the ultimate dread feeling of it. Its just tooooo weird for me and it will be uncomfortable with having my eyes to adjust to whatever scene which is going on by the screen.

3D is already dim and dark. Watching Prometheus which as we know, has a "moody" atmosphere to it in 3D will be a big no-no to me. Just my 2 cents

There are some franchises which should just "die" and for me, RE is one of it. And you are right, I guess we need new movie projects with new ideas. Im hoping for him to break into the sci-fi genre(NOT RE) again with new projects. That would be awesome.

And please, ENOUGH with RE already. The last one was UTTER SHITE!

Ridley Scott stated that this location would occupy the first 15 minutes of the film as a "beginning of time" sequence
