Yeah man, I now have at least a 3.0 setup with my C-Series which I eventually will hook up in the distant future. I decided that I might not sell them anymore since I love my C-100's and my C-C100. Is it possible to get a 4.0 setup? I sill have the bad C-100 speaker which I might never use.
Just give them a little time to break in there Mike, you'll see how much they improve. I noticed a huge difference right away, but of course I was replacing a pair of old Infinity's, and I thought they sounded good.

In your guys opinion how would you describe these two against each other, and would you pick one over the other?

V6.2s or RC70s?

I do not know where to audition them anywhere around me.

Both speaker are warm, linear and not very forgiving of bad material, veritas speakes the truth so they are very faithfull of the sound of original recordings so badly recoded stuff will sound bad now as for the tonal difference where it lies mostly is in the mids who seemed to be a little more present on the Veritas, the Cabinet fishish is astounding in high gloss Piano black or high gloss rosenut finish vs the Black ash on the RC. Both have the same powerand are beautiful an musical speakers but imo honest opinion the Veritas may slightly edge the RC as an all around performer as the RC mids are almost to smooth.

On both speaker no frequency wil be predominant over the others but as mentionned the Verias does have slightly more mids.

I've heard & loved the sound from the CB-10 before, but the dealer has since gone out of business( so no way to demo the RC-series or the Veritas series ). I've been reading the Energy thread over on AVSforum, trying to figure out which I'd like more. I like the appearance of the Veritas series slightly better than the RC series, but wouldn't mind upgrading my entry level bedroom speakers to either( as long as they provide the smooth highs I heard from the CB-10 ). Of course, because of space constraints, the fronts will be in soundbar formation( underneath the TV ).

Possible combinations?

( 2 x RC10, RCLCR, 2 x VS )

( 3 x RCLCR, 2 x VS )

( 2 x V5.1, V5.2C, 2 x VS )

( 3 x V5.2C, 2 x VS )

( 3 x V5.1, 2 x VS )

I ended up ordering three RC-LCR's. They are replacing a pair of Paradigm Atom Monitor v.6 & a Paradigm CC-190 v.6 . For now, the sub & the surrounds remain unchanged. The Paradigm's had their shining moments( Acoustic string instruments, A'cappella singing, etc... ), but the Energy's are a better fit for my ears, overall. The first thing I noticed when I unpacked them, was that photos don't do them justice( they look better in person ). Anyway, here are a few pics...

I've been playing back a lot of DVR'd A'cappella & should have them broken in by next weekend. I don't have the experience or vocabulary to describe what
I'm hearing, except to acknowledge that it is more pleasing to my ears( no frequencies sounding better or worse than others, like with the Paradigms ). What's weird is that I can slightly distinguish the fronts from the rears.

I drool all over RC-LCR's!

Hey Adam, have you considered using the RC-LCR's as the entire front stage as your replacement?

The member Bluray_ne1 has his front stage setup with the LCR's.

The 2.4 actually cost 4K+ US pair back in 2004.
I love my Veritas 2.3i. It's too bad that the old Veritas line got discontinued, but I guess Kilpsch had to make a business decision.

I was considering getting the Veritas 5.1's for heights, but I may consider just being patient and wait to see if I can score an pair of used 2.2is on audiogon or e-bay.

Thanks for your input.

Ok guys I took a few pics last night and added a new folder in my gallery called "HT after upgrades January 2012", if you guys want to take a look. I think I will mount the surrounds on the walls eventually and maybe put my sub on a riser. I'll add more pics if and when I make those changes. It's coming along.

That's it? No more pics?

Haha. Looks good, and even sounds better! How much was the new sub?

It was 444 shipped. I may add another one, maybe even a 12" down the road. I will need to remove that bed and put in a small sofa for it to fit though.

Hey MaCruz,

Yes I have considered it. But now, I am thinking about picking up a RC-LCR since they are such a great price at Vanns, and then trying to snag RC-50's or RC-30's used. I really am in no rush to get replacements. I am willing top wait to do it right. Would love to have RC-10s as my surrounds.

ZIPPO, congrats on that LCR setup. I was considering going that route for sometime but got impatient and wanted to upgrade my sub and surrounds at the same time. Steve and the gang told me to get those LCR's and wait to get that sub later, but did I listen, noooooooooo

You think having the front set up with RC-LCR's would sound better than my current set up (RC-LCR and RC-30's)? I guess it factors in what type of receiver you're using too?
