Uh well, the existing DVD and BD releases aren't worth seeing anyway... here's hoping this one maybe - just maybe - won't cause eye cancer...

Contacted Fabulous Films for info on the release...here is what they were kind of enough to tell me:

Quote:
Transfer method was as follows...the film was originally shot as a 16mm then blown up to 35mm for screening purposes. The 16mm masters could not be sourced so we managed to locate a near mint set of 35mm reels that were telecined and regraded to match the original. We then noise reduced the picture then spent about 30 hours despotting any hairs or dirt damage. This was then HD transferred. It has a 5.1 surround track with english and spanish subtitles, We still are to finalise the extra content though it is likely to have the 'Let There Be Light' docco that is on the Hyper-drive edition

Ha! Great news; wasn't expecting a release as i hadn't checked in a while, watched this properly for the first time last year and it does live up to it's cult status...absolutely unique!

...looking forward to a decent release

Yup... just got the note from Amazon. End of Jan/early Feb.

This is vaporware at this point. I'm now having doubts that this is even real.

It DOES exist, as I saw the whole film (with the new transfer) back in August. Literally no idea why it keeps on being delayed.

Lol, I thought this was a brand new movie till I watched the trailer Was wondering why the boxart looked a bit weird

Think I'd need nostalgia value to enjoy this. Its kinda like watching Tron

So this won't include the commentary or Foster and Narelle interviews from the VCI SE DVD?
