I like your thinking Al but...this pic of the system was before I got the 60" display. You can see the unit around the 42", and the lift that contained the blu-ray and vcr at the time are now gone. This piece of furniture (6 pieces originally) was bought initially to house a Panasonic TAU 36" crt. The unit had doors that closed around the tv that I had to remove to squeeze in the 42". You can see from the new pics what I had to do to keep what I could and accomodate the 60". The reason I sent this pic is to show the lift that contained the blu-ray, etc. I found even with the 42" on it that the display was too high for my liking, and I knew the 60" would be even higher. I'm trying to keep my eyes as close to screen center as I can, so I'd prefer not to go any higher. A new stand would be in order, but I've always liked the look of this one (even gutted, such as it is), and I love the storage I have with it. Plus I blew my entertainment budget on the 60" screen )
