Tell me about it. Looks at his pics from when he played for the Mets. I swear it's not even the same guy.

Yep we see why Bama got in now... Hands down the best team, and LSU is still one of the sickest teams in D1 which says just how good Bama really is.

Lmao I'm glad we didn't have to see either one of these teams SMOKE a Stanford/Ok State, it would be just as boring watching a 56-10 or another Clemson v. WV.

Epic FAIL. Sorry but even if LSU beat Bama tonight I wouldn't call them one of the best teams ever. Teams like 1995 Nebraska, 2001 Miami, the USC teams of 2003-2005, etc. are the best teams in my lifetime. Neither of these playing tonight are in that league.

LSU in position to grab title as college football's best team ever

If top-ranked LSU defeats No. 2 Alabama tonight in the BCS championship game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, the Tigers can claim to be more than the best college football team of the 2011 season. They can claim to be the best college football team of all time, and they can dethrone Alabama in that category in the process.

At least that's the view of Richard Billingsley of the College Football Research Center, whose computer rankings are one of six used in determining a portion of the BCS standings.

Alabama's 2009 national championship team is Billingsley's all-time leader, and the 1971 Nebraska team is second, so a win by LSU tonight would take that distinction from the Crimson Tide.

"That would sweeten the pot a little bit," Tigers sophomore defensive end Barkevious Mingo said. "You think of all the teams that have ever played, and we'd be considered the best of all time. It would be a great honor."

I don't think either team is best ever, but they are the best two this year. I wouldn't even rank this Bama team better than the one with Ingram and Julio Jones.

Its hard for any team to be stacked against decades of past performances.

Saban though has now in my opinion entered into the pool of greatest coaches of all time. Between the recruiting, and stunning coaching.

No frakn way OSU would get smoked by either one of these teams! Infact, I think OSU would have won the title had we not been screwed outta the chance. Neither teams pathetic offenses coulda scored enough points to beat OSU. LSU couldn't even score one frakn point! It would take at least 30 plus to beat OSU.

Stanford caught a beatdown from Oregon, and Oregon caught a beatdown from LSU... OSU couldn't even beat Iowa State, and could barely beat the one man team in Stanford.

Well, I was completely wrong about Alabama's chances the second time around.

Good job Alabama.

Unlike most I'm still not convinced that Alabama couldn't be beat by teams outside the SEC though. Bring on a damn playoff.

They aren't unbeatable If they had to play all 100+ D1 teams I'm sure they'd drop a few, but yes I want that

Whoa, stop the presses! The guy who hates the SEC and all its fans thinks Alabama could be beaten by a non-SEC team? I'm shocked. SHOCKED I TELL YOU!

Hopefully whent he BCS dolts meet today they'll do the right thing and at the very least do the Plus1 system, in which case Oklahoma State would've had a shot to beat Alabama or LSU this postseason and put all this talk to rest.

Yes, even a top-4 playoff would have produced some great matchups. If you take the top-4 final fanked BCS teams you get these matchups.

2011:
1. LSU vs. 4. Stanford
2. Alabama vs. 3. Oklahoma St.

2010:
1. Auburn vs. 4. Stanford
2. Oregon vs. 3. TCU

Not a perfect system, but MUCH better than what we have. It also allows non-BCS teams a legit shot at a championship.

Oklahoma St. barely beat a Stanford team that has Andrew Luck and that's about it. I'll bet OK St. wouldn't score more than 2 TD's on Alabama.

I'm sure Ok St. would have gambled more which probably would have gotten them points, but give Saban 40+ days to pick apart that Iowa State game (Also if he'd gotten to see the Stanford one) and I'm sure he'd pick them apart. He made the #1 team look like an embarrassment.

ok st would have been embarrassed last night...no team in the country would have mounted any offense vs that Bama defense last night. its a whole different level down here

Oh I agree the performance was legendary, but that was on another level even with how amazing they played all year.

BCS title game drew an all-time low title game rating of 13.8. Not surprising. That rating is roughly half the draw Sunday's NFL Denver-Pittsburgh game had.

I'd take a 0 rating if UMD could get a NC

For the season Alabama gave up just 8 PPG to their opponents and only gave up >14 points one time. What's crazy is that one time they have up >14 was when they gave up 21 to I-AA Georgia Southern.

LSU has one of the best defenses in the nation... and Alabama effectively moved the ball up and down the field on them. They only had to punt on TWO posessions in the entire game. I don't see how anyone without bias could honestly call that a pathetic offense. They had trouble in the red zone... but the points they needed were put on the board. Had Richardson and Lacy been utilized more effectively, I would imagine the score would have been higher. But Saban being the strategic genius he is... knew that the LSU defense would be all over the Bama running game... and instead came out with a passing game that the LSU defense was COMPLETELY unprepared for. McCarron has proven to be a very solid quarterback that can do whatever is needed of him... and he's still just a sophomore. And of course... had Maze not cramped his hammie... there's no doubt that return would have went all the way to the end zone. There was noone anywhere near him.

Alabama completely shut down the LSU offense. LSU never even got a single first down until the game was all but over. Does anyone honestly think that OSU would score 30 pts against that defense? That defense is absolutely one of the top ten defenses of all time... and their stats all year have shown that time and time again.

Alabama played that entire game with acute precision. It was an excellently executed game on both sides of the ball. They went in there to prove that they belonged there and that they were indeed the number one team in the nation... and they succeeded hands down.

These are the two BEST defenses Oklahoma St. faced all year.

Stanford - gave up 21.9 PPG for the year
Oklahoma - gave up 22.1 PPG

Alabama gave 8.2 PPG for the season (most given up in any game was 21)
LSU gave up 11.3 PPG for the season

The top SEC teams are on a different level. Nobody is hanging 30 on either IMO. I doubt OK St. would score >2 TD's on Alabama.
