I heard this one, its very nice, performance compared to the halo line was indistinguishable to my ears. There is also a 125 watt version, which I liked a lot too. It's like $775, but I'd go for the more power personally. My dyns are easier to drive then the 160s. |

The one thing that I've always found odd with Emotiva is why do the amps get less expensive when you add more channels? |

here is some pics of the speakers and the transmitter.... the more I read about this, its pretty awesome. It seems to use a lot of similar components of the X12s and X32s, mainly the tweeter and driver size plus the 1.5" voice coil. I don't know the exact pricing yet, but I hear its $1300 euro for the Xeo 3, $250 for Transmitter, and like $2700 euros for the Xeo 5. Not cheap exactly.

Ok. Thanks for all the answers to my previous questions.
So I was able to get rid of my rotel receiver for a 200 dollar loss. So now I can start fresh. I want the focus 160's. What is the best way to get them working in a 5.1 system that has awesome stereo sound. Is it useless going the receiver route? If not which receiver would you get? Are separates better and worth it. If so which for the focus Or should I geta cheaper receiver for ht and go for a 2 channel setup with the focus? Or is there another route to take? |

I got rid of the rotel because of some hdmi handshaking issues as well as the stereo sound was a little lacking and that it was only rated for 8 ohms not 4.
I listen to alternative, jazz and female vocals. And i love my squeezebox for high res and internet radio. I guess an all in on system would be what im looking for but im open to suggestions. I listen to 60/40 music movies. |

It's not rated at 4 ohms but puts out great number in stereo at 4 ohms load 200wpc. I have been driving my rainmakers that are 4omhs load. Anyhow I wont tell you to go for the ARcam as you might run in handshake issues as well even with the latest firmware. Tha should lead you towards an Integra, like an 80.3 |

I brought back my rotel and got a pioneer vsx52 avr which is working incredibly better than the rotel for home theater..7.1 instead of 5.1, auto calibration, incredible 1080p upconverting, no hdmi handshaking issues and it actually sounds better for 1100 dollars cheaper.
So i think i will just enjoy my home theater and just save up a little more to get an awesome 2 channnel setup. I still love the focus 140's but since I dont need to buy a center, surrounds and sub to match, i can afford the 260's. I still need to audtion them...hopefully they are even better than the 160's. I was going to pair the 160's to the naim nait xs. Would the xs be good enough for the 260's? |
