it was originally meant to be 2 movies but i think they ended up condensing it into one

Thanks for the background information. I've been so busy with University work and family business that i have cancelled my Lovefilm.com subscription and started working through my back catalogue of BD films in order to get up to date on them, including the Alien series. That would have been nice, but I don't think so. Prequel 1 would have been discovery of the Alien (Space Jockey) artifacts in the desert on Earth and discovery of the Space Jockey home planet. Prequel 2 would have covered the organization and fulfillment of the trip to the Space Jockey planet and the aftermath. They have been folded together into Prometheus. Thats my interpretation of Ridley's comment. Lets hope they didn't try to cram too much in the one movie.

If this is true I am glad. I hope that for once I can finally tell everyone who said this is not an Alien movie to f&@$ off. Xenomorph or not its an Alien movie.

Scott: I don't want to repeat it. The alien in a sense, as a shape, is worn out.

Maybe he is just so sick and tired of doing interviews that he is just repeating the same stuff over and over.
