He didn't risk getting hung because he'd already escaped from the prison twice so he knew he could do it again. I don't understand why he did what he did either or why the bullets at the end couldn't find their way to Bale, but I love this movie and I don't think the end hurts it at all.

You may want to contain a spoiler warning too just in case people get upset.

Check the movies thread for more. Watch it again. It wasn't a risk. He escaped from that prison twice. Pay attention to his first sketch, what he did with it and why. When he used his gun(Hand of God) and why. His fixation with the cross on the handle before he killed the gang...justice/injustice. Good movies ask you to revisit them and relive them.

There is a thread about the ending a few pages back. It may help answer your questions. I loved it, not the cookie cutter ending we see all too often.

well it would be a risk i mean if were going to be really logical about it dont you think they would have changed the prison layout after 2 escapes, especially as its him who escaped? his lloyalty if he had any would be too his gang!??

Your post makes "so sense at all"

I think the movie was A "Roger Moore" on a scale of Sean Connery to Pierce Bronson. Or a "Superman II" on a scale of Superman to Superman Returns.

It almost seemed like Wade was planning to escape from the train not even the prison so he wouldn't be risking anything.

just giving you a little ribbing... no offense intended or implied.....

I thought the ending could have been better however..... and honestly, there were a lot of parts in the movie that could have been a little better....

gotta make the bad-guys more ruthless in my opinion.... look at Hang em' High, etc.

Did you ever consider becoming a professional film critic? I think you have a future in that - I've never read a more concise, intelligent and thoughtful review of a film.

What is the point of watching a movie if everything is obvious. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=34491s? Ever since the Clint Eastwood westerns, I have been begging for these. Did you watch Tombstone(Kilmer version)?

not obvious but logical i think there was a plot oversight apparently

"The ending is from the original.

In the original movie Dan saves Wade's life during their voyage to the town. Wade feels indebted to Dan for saving his life, hence the ending."

which makes all the difference but was not included in this version, why?

Yeah that's what I think...He wanted to start over on his own. In all honesty Wade's character is a bit confusing because he's supposed to be a lunatic, but he actually seems to be a decent person at times and a ruthless killer at others. I think the ending is a little weak...I'll give you that, but the freaking movie is freaking awesome!!! Just wanted to give a little dramatic effect...off to bed now!

You could look at this as a different interpretation when compared to the original. You could look at it as the same, but less obvious. Did you get the impression that Wade cried when his mother failed to show or at any other time in his life?
