Hmmm.
Ah yes, it couldn't possibly be the texture of the jacket.

As someone wiser than me once said, "There's no accounting for taste".

Hmmm.
Pretty sure it's his jacket with blood stains on it.

I'm glad I live in Canada!
Not bad, but I prefer the art from this poster above all else. The title font... his quiet eyes... it all just comes together.

it's ok, but I think it would look better with the original Drive font.

Most titles have already been produced & are being stocked 2-3 weeks prior, waiting for the street date. Some slip through. That's how you sometimes see pics on here from people with BDs in hand that early.

I agree, that would have been perfect. I dunno why they always think they should change it for the home video releases.

Agreed, for this and Warrior wish they would have just kept the same art as the movie posters.

Thanks for the link! Great to see perfect A/V quality--this movie deserved it! Second favorite movie of '11 after Warrior. January 31st can't come soon enough.

Edit: Just now noticed the weak extras according to the review.

Do I wish the US artwork was better? Of course. But once I put Drive in for a spin, I will forget about the artwork and watch would could be the best movie I have seen in the past ten years. Hurry up Jan 31

I think I'll just rent this for now, hoping that a more definitive edition will appear sometime next year (if the director has his way).

Before Buying 'Drive' On Blu-ray, You Might Want To Wait For The "Queen" Edition Nicolas Winding Refn Is Planning

Double dip, holmes. Triple dip even. Quadruple dip when the Criterion version drops.

Seriously, I've never been this enamored with a film so long after its release. A genuine life-changing classic. Certainly enough to take me from "I'd be interested in pursuing a filmmaking career" before, to, "**** things potentially not working out, this is what I have to try and do with my life."

Maybe it's just me though. This movie is for sure the best of the last decade for me.

Same here man. I'll infinite-dip if I have to. I'm already importing from three different countries.

I gotta check this out. Maybe - if it's as good as you all say - it'll be my first BLIND BUY?

That said, if the film is that "life changing", why wasn't it nominated or win for any Golden Globes this weekend?

Golden Globe Nominees are just films that the Hollywood Foreign Press voted on. Just because a film isn't nominated, or doesn't win does not mean it is not worthy of time and attention, it just means the HFP didn't pick it over others.

Great question. Somehow Gosling gets nominated for his performances in Crazy, Stupid, Love, and Ides of March, but not for Drive.

I'm hesitant to use the "these awards shows are meaningless" line in the past, but after seeing Pitt and Jonah Hill nominated for their roles in Moneyball, Tina Fey get shafted, and shows like Community and Parks and Rec not even nominated, it's starting to feel like a huge circle jerk of a back-patting ceremony for certain producers and production houses, and their buddies.

I've not seen The Artist yet, and it looks good, but the Globes seem to be some weird mix of legitimately quality films, films that are only there because the studio lobbied hard, and then really shitty television. Was Breaking Bad nominated for anything at all this year? 30 Rock wasn't, but four episodes of New Girl justified a nomination. The Tree of Life was also nowhere to be found (I didn't think it was a masterpiece like others said, though I was insanely hyped to see it, but how is it not at least a nominee? Cosmic scenes were enthralling.), but The Help was all over the place.

Man I've been reading some great things about this movie, especially from you guys, I hope I'm not disappointed (however Ryan Gosling has yet to disappoint me in the films I've seen of his)

Def will be picking up the Canadian release since it has that cool slipcover (NOT the futureshop one, I don't really care for that one)
