I agree and think Manning would be crazy to return. This isn't a knee or arm issue, it's his neck. One hit could paralyze him. Manning has made over $100 million in salary alone during his career and should accept that his career is over and let the bidding war between CBS, Fox, NBC, and ESPN for his a job as an analyst start.

I think the Andrew Luck pick has pushed him towards retirement. I seriously doubt he wants to attempt a comeback for a team other than the Colts. It would be terrible if the team had to cut him, which is likely if he doesn't retire.

And like you say, Peyton seems to be a very likable guy and would do just fine in a studio and would be paid well for doing it. Either that or a front ooffice job with the Colts.

I'm a die-hard Cowboys fan. At the start of the season I was disappointed that my job required me to work Sundays. Now, not so much, even though they appear to have found twelve-hundred fascinating and creative ways to lose this season alone.

Also, I agree about Manning. Hopefully, he doesn't get Favre-itis.

Mike McCoy believes he is the leading candidate for the Dolphins' head-coaching job

Acccording to a source, McCoy considers himself the front-runner in the Miami job and is so confident of this status, he took his name out of consideration for the vacant Oakland Raiders job. McCoy was scheduled to interview for that Raiders opening in Denver on Wednesday but ultimately declined.

Both Todd Bowles and Joe Philbin, Miami's other two finalists, are also on the radar for head coach jobs with other teams but have not removed their names from the running of any potential opportunity.

Agreed. He'll be remembered as one of the Greatest of all-time. He has a ring and wealth.

Hopefully, he doesn't do a Brett Favre (linger on) and then take a hit that cripples him. He's one of the smartest players to ever play and like Chad mentioned, very likeable (remember his skits on SNL...hilarious). Let's hope he uses that big brain and hangs 'em up...it's time.

Peyton should retire (from playing) and the Colts would be wise to keep him on staff. Start him off as an assistant somewhere, he WILL make a great offensive coordinator one day. He was basically the play caller under center.

I just don't know if Peyton would want to coach. He's probably worth $100 million already and he might not find it worthwhile to be a coach and work 100 hours a week year round for $500,000 when he could go to a network on a pregame show and work 10 hours a week 20 weeks a year and make $3 million per year. His wife also just had twins last year so he might not want to coach because he wouldn't get to see his kids as much.

Free agent Jerome Simpson was indicted Thursday for allegedly trafficking over eight ounces and under five pounds of marijuana.
Simpson became a SportsCenter hero for his late-season touchdown flip, and may have attracted interest on the open market as a young, freakishly athletic wideout. That won't happen now. Per the Cincinnati Enquirer, Simpson faces Class D felony charges and 1-5 years in prison. This may actually make it more likely Simpson re-signs with the Bengals because he's going to come cheap.

Vikings named former Colts DBs coach Alan Williams as defensive coordinator and Brendan Daly defensive line coach.
Mike Singletary is being retained as "special assistant" to the head coach. Williams spent the past decade in Indianapolis' organization, teaching the Tampa-2 scheme to defensive backs such as Bob Sanders, Antoine Bethea, Melvin Bullitt, Jerraud Powers, and Kelvin Hayden. Coach Leslie Frazier also spent two years working with the Colts in the mid-2000s. The Vikings will be staying in a base 4-3 defense with Cover 2 principles in the secondary.

As do we, both of us will be at the bottom of the division again next year unless we can find some way to counteract the great pass rushes of the Iggles and the Giants. We have our tackles set really, it's our guard spots that need upgrading. Nicks and I guess DeCastro would help a lot there, although a lot are saying DeCastro is not as NFL ready as Tyron Smith was. This will probably be Shenanigan's last year in Washington unless he can get you out of the basement.

Oddly we swept you, you swept the Giants and the Giants swept us. The oddity that is the NFC East, playing the AFC North and NFC South next year. Have a feeling it will be the second year in a row of the division being won by a team with less than 10 wins.
