This movie doesn't deserve a Blu-ray release at all. It's the worst Halloween and a complete embarrassment. What was Rick Rosenthal thinking?? Brad Loree did a piss poor job playing Michael Myers. The whole movie is just a mess.

The whole movie leads up to the D-Cut ending. The T-Cut ending was tacked on at the insistence of the Weinsteins, just like all the filler-kills in the movie. Even the D-Cut isn't exactly what Zombie wanted. Take out the hicks in the field, the strip-club scene, and the deaths at the Phantom Jam, and we'd be a lot closer to the slow-burn movie that Zombie initially scripted. The Weinsteins wanted more kills, and an ending that didn't involve all of the major characters dying...even though the film's narrative is written as a tragedy, and tragedy traditionally demands that the protagonist end up in the ground.

But like I said, why does every Halloween thread have to turn into this same discussion? H:R has nothing to do with the Rob Zombie Halloween films...why are we even talking about them?

I just didn't like the fact that

Thankfully there are 2 different versions for people who like either, sadly both of the versions aren't on blu-ray, but oh well. Interesting hearing your opinion though. I just hope Halloween 3D gets off the ground soon, i'm very curious where they take it after H2.

Eh, I prefer the dramatically appropriate ending, where they all die because that's what the story arc demands. The T-Cut ending plays out like Zombie made it up on the spot after being told that the Weinsteins didn't want Laurie to die, so they could have a pointless sequel hook...which I'm sure is exactly what happened.

I still can't look at that huge Myers mask flopping around on Laurie's little head without laughing. haha

Yes, by all means, let's talk about H:R. And this release specifically. And even more specifically, why the hell ANYONE would buy it. haha I mean, the only thing that prevented a lot of people from buying the Canadian Triple Feature was the inclusion of H:R. So if someone likes H:R (though I can't imagine why they would), why wouldn't they already have it on the Triple Feature? I do, and I HATE that movie. haha

your right in a sense i suppose, i remember reading an email someone posted from echo bridge regarding H6 and H20, their great master plan was to release the blu-ray's with absolutely no extras or 5.1 surround and then if they sold well they would re-release them with bonus stuff and better transfers/sound, i guess it backfired when people complained about the disgraceful discs they were putting out so they've upped their game

Be warned that while EB is making improvements, their release information for 'Proof' listed the inclusion of the original DVD's special features although they didn't make it onto the Blu; it did include the OAR and a lossless soundtrack, though.
