Rescuers pack
Aristocats
Cinderella
Aladdin
Was not referring to your post specifically just in general. I remember what happened when it was announce that the fox and the hound was a double pack the thread exploded and people started arguing with each other. I was just trying to say I expect similar results with these double feature packs

People will always argue on here, it's natural. The day they stop is the day I expect the universe to be ripped apart

I hope that they are 2 separate disks for those combo packs. The Fox and the Hound and the combined disk was the absolute worst.....

This summer and fall seem heavy with Disney releases, but I wonder what will follow Lady and the Tramp in spring, if anything? I'm hoping we get a surprise Studio Ghibli title from Disney (besides The Secret World of Arrietty), since it's almost been a year since Nausicaa came out.

The Lion King sequels are in March, and after that Disney considers May/June the beginning of summer, so Very likely they start releasing the summer titles soon after that.

I'll be picking all of these except for bhc3 and the new fairies movie. I may wait for the Pocohontas movie since it's not really a day one must buy. Depends on the price I suppose.

Waiting another year for "Aladdin" is really messed up. It's already been over 7 years since the DVD, and 2012 marks the 20th anniversary, so Disney shouldn't have put it off.

They'll still probably label it as a "20th Anniversary Edition" in addition to "Diamond Edition." Disney loves anniversaries, even if they are a little late.

Curious. I thought Disney had opted Aladdin out of the Diamond Line when they first started it. I guess they realized what a big mistake that would be.

True. they did the same for Pinocchio BD (it was earlier i think). BatB 3D was not a 20th Anniversary edition though

Thrilled at so many releases in 2012, but geez. It looks like I'm going to have to reopen my amazon.de account and hope the German versions of Rescuers and Pocahontas don't cram a bunch of films in a box.

Yes, I love Rescuers and Rescuers Down Under. Which I why I think it's a disservice to both.

I agree. I also don't mind the Fantasia and Rescuers double packs so much (though I'd still prefer individual releases), since all of the films are part of the same canon by Walt Disney Animation Studios.

But judging from the pattern here, I'm guessing that any non-Diamond Edition films that got sequels will be getting double packs with no option of owning the films individually. I can understand that they probably don't see much of a market if they were to sell most of the "cheapquels" individually, but I don't see why they can't release the original movie individually, and then also have the double packs for those who want to own both.

But in the end, I'm not going to prevent this from getting the films I really want. Especially since it seems the chances of getting individual releases down the line are getting increasingly slim.

On a different note, like most here, it's a surprise to see Aladdin added back to the premium line. Though I was actually wondering if this would happen when the Fantasia films were dropped pretty much right away. It's a welcome addition, though I was hoping the rumors for a 2012 release were true.
