This summer and fall seem heavy with Disney releases, but I wonder what will follow Lady and the Tramp in spring, if anything? I'm hoping we get a surprise Studio Ghibli title from Disney (besides The Secret World of Arrietty), since it's almost been a year since Nausicaa came out.

True. they did the same for Pinocchio BD (it was earlier i think). BatB 3D was not a 20th Anniversary edition though

Thrilled at so many releases in 2012, but geez. It looks like I'm going to have to reopen my amazon.de account and hope the German versions of Rescuers and Pocahontas don't cram a bunch of films in a box.
Yes, I love Rescuers and Rescuers Down Under. Which I why I think it's a disservice to both. |

But judging from the pattern here, I'm guessing that any non-Diamond Edition films that got sequels will be getting double packs with no option of owning the films individually. I can understand that they probably don't see much of a market if they were to sell most of the "cheapquels" individually, but I don't see why they can't release the original movie individually, and then also have the double packs for those who want to own both. But in the end, I'm not going to prevent this from getting the films I really want. Especially since it seems the chances of getting individual releases down the line are getting increasingly slim. On a different note, like most here, it's a surprise to see Aladdin added back to the premium line. Though I was actually wondering if this would happen when the Fantasia films were dropped pretty much right away. It's a welcome addition, though I was hoping the rumors for a 2012 release were true. |
