Going through the Shrek movies now. Saw 3 last night. JTTCOTE is on the way from Amazon so that will be next. I like the Shrek movies now much more than initially, especially in 3D. It's the whole fairy tale thing going on.

Yeah, I don´t know why, but Shrek is so much better in 3D, I love it. Not bad for a 10 years old movie. I can´t wait to see a rest of Shrek collection this sat/sunday

I recently saw Shrek 4 in 3D, which of course was a native title and it looked terrific, great dimensionality to the characters and quite a different experience to 2D, though the switch to 2.35:1 seemed unnecessary.

On the back of that I bought Shrek 3, which is a conversion but I've heard good things about it so will see how it looks. Should arrive today so will check it out, the Shrek series are pricey suckers over here in the UK so if it's good might get the others, given 1 and 2 seemed the strongest story wise.

I recently watched the Lion King in 3D and it looked great. Best Buy had a bunch of Disney 3D movies on sale so I picked up The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast but have not had a chance to watch Beauty and the Beast yet.

Yep, to have 3D at home just like in theaters is a dream come true. I'm going to get a larger tv now to enjoy it even more.

Just buy a projector, what the hell is wrong with people who buy tvs when you can get a projector for cheaper and the quality and size is a million times better!

It wasn't as bad as I remembered from the theater, I'll say that much. The acting is the worst part, it's just awful. The 3D was actually not too bad.
I wanted to bust out laughing but I work in an office but that was funny and would make a good commercial about an unwanted gift. Then again, if I could rent that movie I would give it a fair chance.

Last night:

Journey To The Center Of The Earth 3D: Great transfer, great pop-ups, stupid story with roll-your-eyes-plausibility scenes, but was FUN!

Tonight: Legend Of The Guardians.

I got all the Shrek's in 3D with my Samsung TV. They all look great! Not had chance to watch number 4 as of yet though

Just saw Sharks 3D (the documentary by Jean-Michel Cousteau (an IMAX experience)). Jeez, if ever a underwater documentary needed a colourist it was this one, the 3D had plenty of depth and dimensionality but it could have been so much better if they had colour timed it to give the images some oomph and vibrancy. It wasn't an actual IMAX production so I also don't think the equipment they used was of the same calibre as a 15/70 IMAX camera, so seemed like there was less dynamic range in the picture. Still, the 3D worked well and all the usual underwater schools of fish shots came up a treat.

I would give it 5/10 overall, though 7/10 for the 3D. If you haven't gotten a underwater 3D doco, then go for Deep Sea 3D or Under the Sea 3D, they are a lot more refined, this one is okay, but I wouldn't pay more than a fiver for it.

USA Journey to the Center of the Earth

Watched it two nights ago. For me, the price was a little over the top for the quality of the 3D movie. I have watched this movie before using the 3D colored glasses, which totally sucked, btw. The 3D wasn't bad and there were some 3D eye pops here and there, and to be sure, there were some ghosting going on, but not much. I've enjoy watching this movie, because it does have a good story and quick based, but kind of disappointed because my expectations were high on getting the 3D right in this movie. I was wishing this movie would be one of the better 3D movies in the WOW factor department, but it did not reach that point.

Anyone else watch it yet? What did you think?

BTW, I watched it on a highend Sony 3D 55in TV.

It doesn't matter how high end it is. It could've cost you 4 million dollars and it still wouldn't change the fact that ghosting is happening in your set and not because of the disc.

I doubt that. I am surprised you'll pay 4 million dollars for a movie. I wouldn't.

I'll look into it, but there were some ghosting going on. I noticed it twice during the playback. I have the TV set for the deepest of depth. Maybe I should back off on the degree of depth from high to medium. I'll try that to see if the ghosting stops.

Yes that is what is causing the ghosting. If the 2 images are too far apart it will cause ghosting.
