(Oh c'mon, remember all the "Where's Dumbo?" threads, and wondering whether we'd get Fantasia at all, or had they put it back in the vault?)

No one isn't saying it wasn't supposed to, It was indeed. But at the end of the day when it was released it WASNT. And it doesnt matter for what reason, the fact of the matter is that it was dropped and nothing on the packaging indicates anything other than special edition.

My point was, "unmarked" isn't the same as "dropped"--
We're getting so obsessed with one DVDizzy list compiled out of foreign news that we think anything two weeks off a release date has been blackballed. deported, and had its parking space taken away...
Unless you're a BVHE exec, who said any titles have been "dropped" off of any "10 list", apart from the fanboy site?

I still really don't understand what you're trying to say. It wasn't labeled as a Diamond Edition, and ultimately wasn't marketed as a Diamond Edition upon release either. So why would you still consider it among the Diamond Editions? You don't have to use the word "dropped" if you think that gives the situation a different connotation, but I think it's safe to say that it is not a Diamond Edition.

Sure, people might be getting ahead of themselves in regards to 101 Dalmatians and especially Pinocchio, but Aladdin being added to the Diamond Line, when it clearly wasn't announced in the original official press release, indicates that they aren't following the original plan. So in terms of Fantasia/Fantasia 2000, I don't think you have an argument. In terms of 101 Dalmatians, it's looking increasingly possible that it won't be getting the Diamond treatment, though of course we can't say for sure until it actually happens. As for the rumors about the Diamond Edition line being cut down to 10 titles and Pinocchio being dropped, I don't know where that is coming from, but yeah, I think you're right about that. We can't know anything yet, especially with the completion of the Diamond line being fairly far down the line, and considering the overall way they seem to be changing and delaying various releases.

Wait, if Beauty and the Beast and Bambi are going back into the vault April 30th, does that mean the DTV sequels are going with it? I don't really care about Bambi II, but I love An Enchanted Christmas enough to want to have it in my collection, and I want to try Bambi II because I have heard it is one of the better DTV sequels. They've just been super expensive to buy at the moment.

Considering the advertisement for Lady and the Tramp 2 says "For a limited time only" or something like that, I'd say that's a big possibility.

Looking forward to them all, even Tinker Bell and the Secret of the Wings. Hell, especially Tinker Bell. The plots of these movies are decent and the animation is just top notch. They look amazing on Blu-ray, as good as any Pixar title. I don't see how you can call yourself a Disney fan and not like the Tinker Bell movies.

I wonder when they'll release Pixie Hollow Games on Blu-ray. Hopefully it's a bonus feature on Secret of the Wings?

Disappointed there's no Mulan in the list, but they'll probably do that one in 2013 so they can do a "15th Anniversary" release. Can't have an anniversary that doesn't end in a 0 or a 5, can we? :/
The first one is actually a VERY good movie and not at all what I expected
but the latter two arent anything more than generic, pretty looking kid's movies. Not so much 'family' appeal as the better Disney movies IMO

Beauty and the beast and bambi's sequels ARE being vaulted

It said that on the commercial for the beauty and the beast for a VERY limited time, not just limited like the other sequels.

I just hope we'll get a list of the extras on these releases soon...I'd love to unload the DVD versions on Amazon (Pocahontas is selling for about $17.50 right now), but experience has told me that Disney tends to screw over the consumer by either leaving a lot of extras from the DVD off, or else only including them in some stupid online "virtual vault".

It looks like there will be quite a few extras on Pocahontas at least.

The BBFC (British Board of Film Classification - the people who rate films released in the UK) have rated a host of Pocahontas extras in the last week.

It looks like Pocahontas is going 2 be a 2 disc blu-ray not 1, because there are so many bonus features classified. I know I'm keeping my original DVD.

I don't know if it's some copyright stipulation, whether they're planning a mass repackaging, or whether they don't want competition, but unexplained rule is, when one title goes back into the vault, EVERY sequel and spinoff goes with it.
Hence the live-action 101D going back in with the animated version, and both Lion King sequels going back in with the original.

This, of course, causes wild armchair conspiracy theories among those line-by-line interpreting the DVDizzy Torah about what's been "added" or "dropped" off of The List, but fact is, Disney thinks in franchises, not titles.

Think Lion King's VV was in the works back when they thought it would work for Fantasia--After that, it was too late to stop it.
I seriously wouldn't worry from here on in.

(And I'm facing the same crisis over selling back my Aladdin for $10, but...go without it for a YEAR???? )

The first two were pleasantly generic, the third one was...well, also pleasantly generic, but gave us more of the origin of the "old-skool" angry-silent Tink from Peter Pan, for those of us who'd missed her.

(And not sure we are getting a disk for "Games", think that's just a running series of Disney Channel bits, or else we'd have seen it announced for disk for years by now.)

is Disney seriously just never going to release their classic live action films on blu-ray besides Tron?
god I'm so tired of waiting and there is literally not one shred of evidence that even hints that these films are ever going to come out.

Well, we'll see what will happen with 101D! I sure hope they release the live-action movie as well. I really love that movie.

I feel the reason disney is holding off on live action is for anniversary and the fact that disney doesn't have many live action films under the Disney label.

Better to sell now while there's a demand and you can get that ten bucks instead of settling for less. Then again, they could leave a lot of the extras off the Blu, so you're knda damned if you do, and damned if you don't...

Is it really worth the $10? Honestly for 10 dollars i wouldn't take the chance and just keep the movie for the bonus features.

Sadly, with my wimpy paychecks, every dollar counts. I'm also considering selling my Criterion DVD versions of Spellbound, Notorious and Rebecca on Amazon -- even though some of the extras aren't ported over to the new Blus -- because I can get nearly $40 for all three combined.

IDK if it has been posted, I didn't see it, but Finding Nemo will be in 3D this fall at theaters, which means we'll see a Blu-ray this fall.
