Glad to hear about Rescuers. Tarzan is the next big Disney title that I want and I thought it was slated for this year.

Hopefully Disney won't postpone them like Dumbo & the most recent 2 Tinkerbell movies that just disappeared after being advertised would come out in the Fall of 2011.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the mentioned titles, but I'm just thinking about 'Hunchback'. I'm hoping that Disney decides NOT to package it with its cheapquel. I've developed a scenario in my mind; I imagine that Disney decides to make a combo pack with The-Film-That-Must-Not-Be-Named and as the workers package it, everyone dies, ensuing a mass recall and forcing Disney to release it by itself.

Tarzan is scheduled for this year in some countries. Unfortunately for the US, in Greece it will be release on April 2nd and in the UK possibly somewhere around that time. I hope I'm very wrong, but I find it extremely unlikely that you'll get it as soon as we'll do, judging from the LatT's inserts.

For me, it's Hercules that I would like to see most. The master they used for the DVD was created for the LaserDisc version back in 1997 and not anamorphic. Of the Disney canon, I believe this one has the oldest master, all the other films being mastered/remastered after it.

That and The Rescuers Down Under. And while I'm so sure, I think Hunchback did not ever get a full blown restoration / digital transfer. The DVD is not a good-looking one, even if it's not as bad as Hercules'.

All but Secret Wings, Lion King 2, Chihuahua and Lady & The Tramp 2 for me.

I really wish Pocahontas was not a double features, no interest in the 2nd movie. The Rescuers as a double is great as I loved both movies. I guess that leaves Tarzan still to get a date. I hope we hear about Hunchback and especially, Hercules soon as well. I'll also take Return of Jafar.

Little Mermaid is slated for fall 2013 isn't it? Was never happy with the DVD transfer, one of my favorite movies.

not officially yet but judging from the theatrical re-release, it's safe to assume that it will be released at that time

I was assuming later this year. For some reason Disney likes pleasing other countries before like like putting a smile on our faces here in the US.

Im guessing that Lady and the Tramp comes out at the same time in the UK, does anyone have any news on the inserts? If tarzan is not in it, then there won't be a Blu-Ray release.. I also read somewhere that Winnie the Pooh is going to be released in Blu-Ray. Disney have uploaded very high quality scenes from the classic pooh.. it should come soon

Rescuers Down Under DVD is a newer transfer than the LD, and it's anamorphic.

Tarzan has been classified from the BBFC so it is coming, soon. and the UK edition has no inserts or trailers concerning the classics (not even aristocats).
concering the original Winnie, it could be released on BD in 2013, as even the DVD reissues have been postponed

I honestly think that Tarzan will be released on Blu near John Carter. (for people wondering the person who wrote tarzan wrote John Carter so there is a tie in)

Makes sense. As long as it isn't packaged with its sequel, I don't care.

Tarzan has more than one sequel so i doubt it will be a exclusive set, it will probably be a standalone

Fantastic! Yes, I forgot Tarzan and Jane But if this means a standalone, I don't care how many sequels it had.

I wouldn't rejoice too quickly. Tarzan only has one official "canon" sequel which (like Bambi II, The Fox and the Hound 2 and Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas) is a midquel called Tarzan II for whatever reason. Tarzan & Jane is just a compilation of episodes from the series, so I don't think we'll ever see that re-released just like we probably won't see Hercules: Zero to Hero released.

Odd. That actually just occurred to me only a minute ago before reading this. Odd, indeed. >_< Crap. But, hopefully, Disney will decide not make a "2 Movie Collection" of both Tarzans. Doubt it, but I hope. At least Hercules may get a separate release. I'm trying to find the bright side of things, but NOTHING is working.....
