Yeah, with that SRP, importing the UK set still looks pretty tempting to me.

But I won't have to do that if I can rent the U.S. version.

It doesn't say if they're the extended versions released in 2000. Does anyone know?

yes, they are going to be the same as this new boxset. The 1st and 2nd one was re-encoded and look a decent bit better than the 2 travesties that were released as singles here in the U.S.

Agh! That BS! Why would they do that? The extended cuts are so much better, they add a lot of character development and they flow so much better. After getting used to the extended versions for 12 years, these versions are going to feel incomplete to me.

mmm, agree they should always put both cuts on a flick but I disagree about the extended. these are very obviously studio extended cuts and not true Directors cuts (Donnor himself has come out and says that the theatrical cuts are his true cuts). the extendeds have many un necessary scenes that ruin the flow IMO. for example the ridiculous "double introduction scenes" of Riggs in the first LW movie.

the only way id buy these again for that ridiculous price is if they include the Dir cuts. but till then, this is an easy pass for me.

Which is why I didn't mind buying them without the longer cuts.

I can't believe that the USA doesn't have these yet

I got these from amazon UK well over a year ago.

I was disappointed not to have the extended cuts and the AQ/PQ are not reference quality by any stretch, however it is great to own all 4 in HD

Having said all that, I paid the equivalent of about $25-$30 all-in. Anyone paying $80 for these when they are available from the UK and region-free needs their head tested

Even with the MSRP of $79.98, it'll probably be like $50 when it's released. Of course, $40 would be nicer...

How do you guys know it's going to be the same as the UK box set? Is there somewhere that says this?

Warner never does new and unique editions for each region or country. This set will have identical content to the UK set. There will be minor packaging differences, as there always is because marketing is localized to each country.

If you waited until Black Friday, there's always a chance you could get it for $30-$35... I guess.
