3 more Maryland players are transferring, with quarterback Danny O'Brien, offensive lineman Max Garcia, and linebacker Mario Rowson all leaving. These are some significant losses, as O'Brien split time at QB before suffering a season-ending injury, Garcia starting every game last year at left tackle, and Rowson started 4 games last year. O'Brien is rumored to be interested in Vanderbilt where former Maryland offensive coordinator James Franklin is head coach but in a petty move Maryland won't let him transfer there despite the fact that they aren't going to face Vanderbilt for at least the next 7 years. In total 24 players have transferred since Randy Edsall was hired, with 12 of those occurring since the end of the 2011 season.

![]() we get one possibly great incoming player, but at the expense of that many proven players. Edsall is such a failure. |

I bet Edsall does better than the Fridge did in the past 6 years, hell he couldn't do any worse. He just landed a great WR and 2 RB's. O'Brien sucked anyway. Torrey Smith wasn't there this year to bail that noodle arm out and he couldn't complete a pass this year. Only Duke has a worse record in the ACC the past 6 years. Edsall is light years better coach than that fat slob. Only team he coud beat was Clemson and he did that at GT too.

I don't give Fridge much credit as the rosters he won with early were comprised of an outgoing scouting staff. |

Out of the top tier in the Big 12, Texas, K State, and TAMU have all been pretty (nothing is static) consistently run first and OU has done very well against those three. Anytime Texas has a proven running back under Mack Brown they always tend to be run first. KState, no explanation needed. TAMU certainly run first more often than not. TAMU might run a version of the spread but they run the ball a lot and they usually have dual threat QBs looking to run.

1 win vs. Ranked teams All he did was quietly build an average to below average program. I bet any of the top coaches in football could have done a good job with zero pressure. *Oh I forgot his graduating rates are absolute trash(while at uconn). Last edited by supersix4; 02-16-2012 at 02:03 PM. |

According to the linked story, on February 1 TCU coach Gary Patterson had his entire team take a surprise drug test. 3 players who were arrested and eventually kicked off the team believed much of the team failed the drug test. Before they were arrested, linebacker Tanner Brock told an undercover cop he believes around 60 players failed the test, cornerback Devin Johnson said 82 players failed the test, and offensive lineman Ty Horn guessed that there were 20 players on the team that could pass a drug test. These are just the guesses of 3 players that would eventually be arrested for drug dealing but it could point to a much more widespread problem on the TCU team.

Apparently TCU coach Gary Patterson decided to drug test the whole football program after a highly-sought recruit told him that he wouldn't sign with the team because of the drug use by the players.

If that's the case, they'll have a hard time fielding a team for the opener.
![]() Even if it's true, the coach will unfairly spread out the suspensions that are warranted. He'll suspend his stars for the first game against a scrub team, then suspend the scrubs when they play a good team. That's the Florida way, at least. Speaking of UF, one of their freshman was arrested for knocking his live-in girlfriend down and dragging her by her feet out of their apartment door. If Meyer was there, he'd get a quarter suspension. Curious to see what Muschamp does (if anything). |

![]() ![]() Really... If the entire team flunked it, the NCAA should really step in, even half a team is hugely unacceptable given they are public figures. |
