This news is certainly legit as Japan is getting ready to receive the original Ringu, Ringu 2 and Ringu 0 on Blu this May.

We could expect a general release of the 2003 American version in a couple of months from now just in time for Halloween. But for now this Best Buy exclusive seems proper.

Out of topic. That "The Town" digibook cover looks horrid.

Back on topic. This was actually one of the better RECENT horror movies Ive seen. I actually liked part two as well, although that received some hate from what I remember.

I'll get this one, but "The Ring 2" was terrible.

I am actually excited about the original getting a release on Blu in Japan. Did not know that, but it's a sure buy for me if it has English subs.

I found the remake quite good, but not on par with the original.

Am kind of curious if the Unrated version they released made it any better.

I personally enjoyed the heck out of the sequel. Sure, its not better than the orginal (Which I dont think anyone expected) but I dont understand why people hate The Ring 2 so much.

Hopefully that also gets released eventually

I hated it because I loved the first so much and it just couldn't compare. I thought it was unintentionally funny rather than scary. Now the first was quite creepy. Man I have fond memories of seeing that one in theaters. So much fun.

Used to be one of my favorite horror movies when I was younger. I can't even count how many times I've seen it. Will definitely upgrade at the right price. My DVD copy is full-screen, making it pretty much completely useless.

Can't believe I ever bought full-screen to begin with.

Wonder if it would scare me now? It never used to when I was younger, but the older I've gotten the less I can handle horror. Paranormal Activity ruined me.

They seriously need to stop releasing movies that has sequels and then it takes them years to release the sequels on BD if at all. I mean, I love The Ring. But it makes me REAL mad when I can only buy the 1st part on Blu and then I have bunch of sequels on DVD's. I realize often times people don't like the sequels of an original great movie, but there's also a lot of people like myself that likes them and are a completist.

i.e

The Grudge - where the f**ck is the 2nd part on blu?
Amytiville Horror - Where's part 2 and 3?
Rush Hour - where's part 2?
Beverly Hills Cop - Where's part 2 and 3?
48 Hrs - Where's Another 48 hrs??
Fright Night - Where's part 2?
Friday the 13th? only the first 3 released

And the list can go on and on.....

Count me in as one who enjoyed the sequel as well. Then again, The Ring is one of my favorite horror movies, so I may be a little biased towards liking the sequel.

Great news and I always loved this movie and as another member pointed out it would be cool if it came with the lenticular cover. I remember the movie poster that was lenticular and it was amazing.

Indeed, it was a a beautifully shot film and genuinely creepy at times..

I would love to see the deleted scenes. The original DVD included several sequences and additional snippets edited together, but it didn't include the Chris Cooper scenes that were allegedly filmed.

Will definitely get this one. It's one of the few horror movies I care enough about to own.
