Default Dreamworks studio HD-DVD?

Some of the patients over at AVS are claiming Dreamworks has signed up for HD-DVD and that Gladiator is iminent, is this correct or have they missed their daily tablets?

ehhhh, it's possible as the distributor is Universal in the usa... i hope not.

But though it's a good catalogue title and one i would dearly like to have... it's not a format winner.

Anything is possible but just remember this is the same group that announced Disney and Fox were going to be big supporters of HD-DVD just a few months ago, amongst other wishful announcements.

Dreamworks is owned by Paramount.
Paramount does both BD and HD DVD so it's possible.

Even though Paramount owns Dreamworks now, I don't think they own the rights to the movies released before they bought Dreamworks. Which would make Gladiator a Universal title. But I am not 100% sure on that.

I believe when Gladiator was released, Dreamworks fully funded it but used Universal's capabilities for theatrical distribution and DVD sales. Dreamworks titles are on per movie basis.
