What makes me laugh is that you do exactly what steelbook collectors do but without the 'gimmick'. Difference is I could probably sell my steelbook collection for more than I paid for it whereas your collection is probably worth half or a third of what you paid.
I'd guess that Alex_DeLarge is aiming his criticism more at people that will pay £30+ for an OOP steelbook when a standard release is maybe £8. All the steelbooks I have were only ever around or a couple of quid more than the standard amaray release.
I don't I've ever paid more than £20 for 1 film or TV season on Blu, I got the Lord of the Rings Extended set for £45 (£15 per film) and I think I paid £67 for the complete LOST set (just over £11 each). I think I'm just too cheap to ever spend big on special editions, including steelbooks.
