Best HD picture by a mile...superb 3D moments too...Excellent, funny film! If you have a 3DTV you MUST buy this!

I adore the modern colours in it too...like the use of Orange and White.

as much as thought the 3D 'theatrical' experience was a blast - the best 3D moment was the end credits where the minions were jumping around, on the beam and stuff.

Default Sony 3D

A tip that works for me that I heard about is to put a 3D movie in and either let it run or leave it paused for a while maybe 30 minutes and then watch your 3D movie. I tried this with Avatar on my Samsung 50" Plasma on thursday and it worked. Not sure if it'll work for you but it's worth a shot. I guess it's like letting your car warm up before you drive it.

I only remember ghosting on the logos at the beginning? Maybe once more in film? It's barely noticeable thankfully!

Glad I'm not the only one to see that... the beginning logo was absolutely awful.

The rest looked good though but I was a little worried when I saw that.

in my opinion, one of the best 3d scenes in this movie was without a doubt the rollercoaster ride. Definitely got me that butterfly feeling in my stomach for a minute.

My tv is neading to be fixed due to poor 3d that has been developed nearly plays this film flawlessly when every other film si coverd in ghosting. Go figure.

Hi Guys

Been browsing the forum for a week or so and decided to join!

Anyway, recently bought the new passive LG 42 incher. I am glad to say that the first 3D blu I bought was Despicable Me, and wow what a stunner! To say I was blown away by the quality of the 3D is an understatement. I put it on to show my partner who is not really into movies, and they were gobsmacked!!! Oh there was zero crosstalk on my LG too.

Just ordered Rezzy Afterlife and Grand Canyon .. can't wait!

Welcome to the forums Steelerik!

I've had DM for a while now, got the combo version with 3D disk for Christmas anticipating getting a 3DTV this year. I've had the TV a while now but ironically didn't watch this movie until last weekend. WOW, it's a keeper! I got the same crosstalk on the opening logo that others have mentioned, and there were a couple of other minor bits of crosstalk that I wouldn't have noticed had I not been scrutinizing it. But overall it's really amazing, the detail is just incredible. I love the weathering (scuffs/ dents/ dings) on everything from his car to the roller coaster to the girls' beds. Awesome! And like someone mentioned above, the roller coaster ride was fantastic! I just wish they had spent more time in the first person view on the roller coaster, just as it starts feeling like you're actually on it they cut away. Very cool though. The effects displayed when the weapons are being warmed up are neat too. It's a great movie even in 2D, but in 3D it's spectacular.

My only quibble with this was that the Minion shorts weren't in 3D.
I've had a few friends over that didn't have time to watch a full 3D movie.

2 or 3 of the 3D movies I've got (the WB ones) have Looney Tunes shorts that make nice presentation pieces, but a couple times I would have gone with Minion shorts if they were available.

I just swapped my copy out for the Best Buy movie mode version, so I'll be re-watching again soon anyway.

I find the chapter where Gru goes into space to steal the moon is by far the best 3D I have ever seen! The depth is incredible. The scene where the rocket crash lands and the tip pokes outta the screen is perfect ... it feels like you can touch it and there is zero cross talk on the shot in such a demanding shot.

If there is anything out there this good guys, let me know and I will snap em up!!

Yes, I'm bringing an old thread back from the dead (ZOMBIE THREAD) but I just got my 3D TV last month and as finally able to get a copy of Despicable Me 3D and popped it in yesterday. WOW! From the colors to the depth to the 'pop' in some scenes, it was awesome! This was one of my favorite movies in 2D but now in 3D it takes it to another level. I was psyched to see it is in full 1.85:1 ratio. I'll be watching this one again this weekend.

It's a decent film and the transfer is sublime in terms of colours and sharpness but to me the 3D is somewhat tame, there were some good 3D shots (the spaceship crash), but they could have taken it a lot further, e.g. the rollercoaster ride was tamer than that in Journey to the Centre of the Earth. This just really felt like a 'looking into a window' 3D film to me for the most part.
