Just finished watching this and have to say that it has the best 3D throughout of any 3D BD that I have seen. Very, very impressive especially the scenes that take place when the beavers dam breaks. I was also surprised to find the story engaging, funny and entertaining. From seeing the 3D previews (before purchasing it), I wasn't expecting to like it at all (story wise). Anyone know if another open season is in the works?

open season 2 does not have the two main stars of the first one. But the bear is mike epps and the dear is Joel McHale the guy who does the soup and community.

Are those in 3D also? Whoever picked the preview scenes for Open Season did not do it any justice. There are a ton of better shots they could have used to lure folks in.

That's for sure. But I have to admit, I did enjoy the surprise.

I was suprised at how much more I enjoyed this movie in 3D than regular 2D. You might want to pick it up just for the state of the art spectacle it is. Its nice to have a 3D movie in your collection that puts most 3D cinemas to shame.

Ultimately no matter how great it looks in 3D no question is more important than "do you like the movie?" If the movie isn't good 3D doesn't matter nor does any tech advancement. I could care less if The Last Airbender or Transformers Revenge of the Fallen score 1 or a 5 in picture and sound because the movies suck.

Just won this from ebay for $18 including shipping! This is my record holder now as it knocked off ACC which I got for $18.50 including shipping. Lol.

Can't wait to watch this as it seems to be THE barometer on pop-outs.

Watched this yesterday and loved every minute. Thought the picture quality was first class with very little ghosting and colours staying bright and sharp throughout. 3D was good too with some great depth moments, still no real pop out though!.

Not sure what real pop-outs mean. Does this mean like in the Ring movie?

Its when part of the 3D feels like its coming right out of the screen at you.

I just purchased this and when I went to put the case on my bookshelf I noticed that the clear 3D case is slightly wider than the Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs clear case. I purchased this from Amazon.com and it is still sealed. Is the larger case normal for this title? It just looks out of place on the shelf.

Saw this the other night, it's a great 3D transfer, lots of depth (even despite the painted backgrounds) and nice medium level pop, especially when they invade the convenience store. The sequence when the dam breaks is also pretty spectacular, the water really rushes up around you. The main character, forget his name, the bear, also looked top notch, really looms over the audience on a 120 inch screen and every hair of his fur coating comes up a treat. All in all, this is a pretty impressive 3D title, love the fact it was 16:9 as well.

Just watched this last night.

Spoiler alert....Dont read below if you don't want a spoiler...

There was one part where my wife actually jumped and kinda screamed a little when a stick of dynamite came flying out of the screen...lol

Tons of pop outs and just overall great depth...

Top 3 in my list for sure...
