Hi all, just wanted to show the latest designs from the legend that is Nissen!!!!!

I love the consistency he has given them, especially the top right of the reverse covers - using a "cut-out" image to over-see the rest of the design. They look awesome printed off - especially The Omen which stands out because of the drawing used rather than a photo cover.

Pure class in my opinion.

I did not have any plans to do Indy, but you are not the first to request that I do. I'll give it a shot

Here is the prepwork for a WIP for "Raiders of the Lost Ark"

I decided to use the original theatrical poster.

I will be using burnt parchment frames on the back cover for images and text:

I know the title is technically now "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" but to me, it will always be simply "Raiders of the Lost Ark"

I'm new to the custom covers department, and I have a HUGE request if anyone would attempt it. (or if they've seen one done) Target stores had their own special cover art for the Harry Potter series and when the 8th movie finally came out, their featured art did not match the rest of the series.

The style I want looks like this

And the product link is here if that matters...
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Harry...Blu-ray/32597/
A quick Blu-Ray search of Potter + Target will show you the first 7 matching editions.

I would LOVE to have a cover in that style that fits the 8th film - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2.

Again, if anyone has seen someone else's custom art to match this series, please let me know. I've been scouring a lot of sites without luck. I'm not even a huge Harry Potter fan, but I am an OCD freak and need things to match. Ha!

Thanks for any help!

I think having it on the spine might work, especially since the picture of Ewan is cramped on there. Personally, I liked the collage of the characters on the back. I think it was a good way of connecting this new look with a more familiar image (at least more familiar to North Americans), while maintaining the desired style.

Superb! That flimsy boxset is such an eyesore.

very cool! i agree with the others that the collectors edition is slightly out of place, not horribly out of place. i dont know where would be a better place for it. but it's a really awesome cover!

Yes, stick with "Raiders" and the alternate was always a good one...

I always did prefer that poster for "Temple of Doom"

I will likely produce some alternate "Raiders" custom covers. For those people who have to have it as "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" and with the alternate poster. For the most part however I am sticking with the original poster art which is why I chose the one I did for Raiders.

I personally love your choice for Raiders...

And no self respecting fan would ever want it to read Indiana Jones... Or I could be wrong.

Can't wait to get these. Thanks for all your efforts.

Default Indiana Jones

Had a request for a blu set using the front layout from the old DVD's. Got the fronts worked out now just attacking the back. Going a different way than the dvd styled boxes on the back. Still playing with it. Went with the leather look to somewhat match his bag and jacket but still keeping it that rust color look.

UPDATE: I added the THX in hopes that maybe. Im sure we will just get Dolby TrueHD though. Easy fix down the road.

The leather look is brilliant - they look very luxurious.

Default French Connection I & II

I haven't posted anything in many months... probably because nothing I've made for myself was nearly up to the quality of what is shared in this thread. But this afternoon and evening, I made this....

The French Connection I & II 2-pack blu-ray cover by sgood3, on Flickr

I was so happy that Fox released a new French Connection disc with a good transfer (no Friedkin mucking around with colors and contrast) that I made a two-pack for the original and sequel. I'm happy to share with anyone who PM's me. Is it great? Is it "in-line" with studio-produced covers? Nope... my skills are quite limited.

Well, I thought I would give this a bit of a try. Here's my take on this request, so far. Though I'm not sure if I'm breaking any rules, but the cover image is from a drawing by a very talented artist named Phillip Sevy. Credit for his image will be given on the back of the cover art. If any rules have been broken, please let me know and I will remove this post, along with deleting the cover.

It's a good question. We don't hesitate to use "official" poster art from commercial artists, but from "private" practitioners it requires a little more thought. The ethics are a little grey, but I find myself using fanmade artwork on several covers, so you are not alone.

I think it is good form to always credit the artist on the cover (A URL to their webiste on the cover goes a long way too), inform them and maybe even send them a copy just to show them what their art is being used for.

Most of the time I adhere to it being easier to ask forgiveness than permission, but that's just me. As long as money isn't changing hands I don't think we're breaking any "rules". If you were selling posters of their artwork, then you'd be crossing the line not only ethically, but legally.
